Not a lady, but I asked my wife and she said she would rather decorate it herself with a red FO front and about 6 magazines.

But in reality if I bought her a Glock she'd would ask me how much we could get for it to trade in on a Colt series 70 1911.

I told my wife the only way she could have pink anything gun related she had to be proficient with her guns.

no, but I don't like pink. period.
I vote for letting her decide after she has the gun.

I'm tired of this topic, really tired. We've hashed this over so many times.

Long story short, let the woman buy her own gun and let it be the calibre, color and brand SHE wants.

Personally, I prefer the more earthy colors but I have a few friends who think pink guns are cute.

I hate pink too. But I say, if pink gets more women to the range, let them use pink!
I prefer my weapons to look like what they are.

I don't disagree, Little.....but let the woman make the choice.
like you I don't like my weapons to look like toys.
                  but each to their own.......

My wife refused a pink gun: "guns aren't supposed to be cute, they are supposed to look like a tool with a purpose"

but hey to each their own and if it makes her feel more comfortable behind a firearm then so be it.

On the same note though I totally disagree with the tiny 22lr rifles. Firearms for children should not look like toys.

                        Blademan21,

Have you noticed some of the reactions to your question from the women here? We have men come in and ask us about pink guns over and over again. Over and over we tell the men to let the woman decide her own gun and color. I will answer your questions in an honest manner.

Along with some pink ear muffs..ect.The whole deal done in pink.

The part I put in bold is what concerns me. It sounds like she's not into shooting and you think that coloring a gun pink will automatically make the ladies want it and want to go shooting. This is not always the case.

So my question is pink the color ladies like their guns and equipment? If I do the pink thing rest assured I won't be shooting her Glock. Not manly .Just curious what you ladies like.

I don't care if other women want to have pink guns, purple guns, sparkly green guns or whatever. To each her own. However, a pink gun is NOT for me and I would be offended if my man bought me a pink pistol.

Oh, and its a suprise so I haven't asked her what she would like.

Wait. You're surprising her with a gun, haven't asked her for her opinion on what she wants, are thinking of making it a color many women don't want and it sounds like she's not already a shooter?

                        Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! <alarms sound>

Or I could just add it to my flock and leave it stock

One thing I don't like is when men buy a gun "for my wife" when they were really buying it for themselves. You get something rad for yourself and then give it as a "gift" to your woman who doesn't even shoot. Then, when she "doesn't like it" you get to "keep it for yourself." It's a ploy and it's selfish.

                        Please don't be that guy.

I applaud you for seeking ideas and I ask you to forgive me for being a bit harsh. I just cringe when I see stuff like this. I like what jurrd87's wife did. Black gun and black rifle. And *IF* she wants some pink or teal or red or purple accents, she can add grip tape, a custom color slide release and slide plate, etc.

The Glock 19 is a great choice - you did good there. The G19 is very customizable. Keep it stock and then let her shop for any special touches she wants.

Bad Kitty is right, as she often is.

I'm reminded of a true story. A husband whose wife's birthday was in May, bought her a big shiny power mower. For his birthday in November, he got a $2000 sewing machine.

True story, these were my room-mate's parents.

Gentlemen, be careful of buying your lady something she doesn't want. You could wind up with a whole lot of $700 shoes.

                            Gosh Jared,

Sure glad you put "your lady" in her place and told her the proper way to own a gun.

Sorry Jared, I know you meant nothing by this, but it really is a demeaning statement. I bet your wife would have practiced and gotten proficient without being told she had to by her husband.

I don't expect everything handed to me. Just set it down anywhere. Unknown

I buy my own guns, always have, or when I was a wee lass, and had them handed down

I also think, just my two cents, coloring a gun is demeaning and meant to downplay and somehow make more feminine a weapon that by its very nature is scary and dangerous.

There is this reasoning: Make the gun more toy like and maybe it won't look so scary?!?
Here is an interesting article regarding 'Pink Firearms'

Methinks this is another troll thread to get everyone stirred up.
