    Update on the elder...home tonight....

So Elder let me know he was being medically discharged a few weeks ago and then on the 1st he got a quick call to tell me he was in outprocessing and this morning I got the "I am at the airport, I'll be in Oakland at 10:45pm". So as happy as I am to see him, and with the Twinners in South Korea and Hawaii right now(Army for both) we are all on edge but this is one less worry but a worry that begets a whole new set of worries. Elder sold his car, quit his job, came home from KY and now will need a car,, a job and a place to live because I do not have a revolving door on my home and he knows that this homecoming is temporary. I am getting crap from my friends and family for being such a hard a** on this but he is almost 24 and while none of these setbacks are his fault, I will not and cannot give him permission to let this be his reason to give up. Whew. Well off to the airport soon!

There's a "jobs wanted" forum here on Calguns, where members help each other out. Maybe he could find some temporary work there, while he's figuring things out? I've never used it, have no idea how good it is, but it's a thought.

I'm so glad he's home and safe.

Good for you Mom, tough love is sometimes the best. He will be thanking you later for not letting him come back and do nothing.

PM me if you like and he's in the LA area. I know some good folks who are always hiring. And good for you, my parents were always supportive but firm and I'm glad I'm on my feet and supporting myself because of that firmness.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

Thanks! Unfortunately, we found out today that he is requiring shoulder surgery due to the injury so he will be out of commission for 6-8wks after surgery. We are in NorCal though but if he decides to go stay with our family in SoCal after all is said and done, I will keep you in mind!
