treated myself
purchased a ruger 10/22 compact black laminate yesterday. fits me perfect. and i like that removing one screw actually makes it "take down" for storage and/or transport. now the wait........ not interested in doing a lot of tweeking but will be getting a scope, perhaps replacing the screw with a thumb screw, swivels and strap, and definitely lots of clips.

A FTS scope with a red dot on a rimfire would be tacticoolest!
