    Just some thoughts

A few things have been bugging me for a while, guys seem to post "help me threads" in here alot, spec aimed at purchasing fire arms for their better halves. That's great! Really it is, I am all for it, but it gets repetative to see it over and over. Generally, women have smaller hands than guys, ok; that is established right? Now look at your own wife, gf, fia, what ever's hands; now gauge how their sizing is, take them to Turners, or elsewhere and hold a variety of guns to see which feel right and to you, appear to fill in their hands properly. Now ask their opinions, and or rent some too, have them fire a few, and make a purchase judgement on what she held, and ultimately fired. What she can handle, and will love to own/use. For me its 99% function and 1% damn some fire arms are just beautiful. Know what I mean?

Another is life advice about LAYDAHHH troubles, seriously guys? I thought this place was for WOMEN, not GUYS? That's firstly. Second, I am assuming not many if any of us here know some of the random guys that post in here. So why are you asking strangers to gauge and help you with relationship troubles, if we don't even honestly know you?

Lastly, a part that really burns me up, is guys? You shouldn't post on here to find a "shooting buddy", seriously; who cares if you find it difficult to find someone who shoots? Comments like almost all Gal's out shooting have BF's or Husbands! Ummm yeh? Cause if not them, its brothers uncles or dads or grand parents who got us into shooting! If you are looking for a relationship hit eHARMONY, this isn't a dating site. Slim pickings to your preference? That really is to bad. You should be aware of something, any woman whos not an immature girl still? Knows her worth, and what she deserves. And if some guy asked me on a forum, "Hey, lets go shoot, hang out at the range!" I am going to reply, no. Simple. WHO T H are you? Any self respecting person won't go for someone who comes off desperate. And Catagorizing us, saying you want a woman who loves to shoot? Um let me ask you as a guy; not all guys can cook, nor work on cars, not repair, BUILD. RESTORE fully, not just maintanance. Can you provide a HUGE house, stable support and raise a family? No? That abruptly to over the top? Demanding for just a date? Oh ok...well thats just a req. SOME may want, its not always readily there, like a woman who loves to shoot. Its experienced and learned, enjoyed. OR NOT. Shooting isn't for everyone. But my point? This isn't a dating service. Or a place to pick ppl up, you want to start a thread for shooting event, I am sure you can post that on normal CG, but this is a F oriented area, you obviously are posting because you WANT a woman, well sorry to say, I myself find it a bit intrusive especially out of the blue by some random man/boy we don't know. Its kind of creepy. That is just me though.

But honestly? Stop poking around like vultures. Want a GF or Wife? GO FIND ONE IN REAL LIFE, ftf in person, or use a DATING site. The key word <--- back there was dating site. Not here. I come on here to read up on like minded builds, or to converse and see what other women in here are posting, not to see guys post about wanting a friday night date, or fire arm purchase advice, when easily enough the man can draw own conclusive information himself through research, IN person, yourself. With your woman. Easy peasy done.

Just voicing and posting. Noticed this happened on a private car forum I am on, because ppl had randomly begun inviting their friends to join, these friends all guys, began trying to hit on and pickup random female members they don't know, thinking they can meet up, hangout and get a cheap easy lay. Eventually booted them all and have returned our forum to its selective exclusivity. But point is, its kind of obvious a guy can buy his woman a fire arm through his own work and effort. Its obvious when guys are on here hunting for us, you know? It's a bit tiresome, but I know I don't post here much, but just thought I'd voice and post. If I offend any others here like gendered, sorry. For opp sex, don't care so much if I do~ Just stating.

Anyways have a good night all.

Yup. Well said. Why I rarely post here.

I don't think guys read the stickies.

I would love a forum where I could ask women their opinions or about their experiences. I know guys who shoot; I don't know women who shoot in person and this forum could have filled that.

My husband NEVER posts here. He says guys shouldn't.

See you on the C and R or rimfire or other places till we figure this out. I miss some of you!

i agree with a lot, oqs, but i'm ok with some of the posters requesting advice re a gun....for instance, the last one by powaybob. he had already done a lot of the right things....all he was looking for was suggestions for guns that he might consider as a trade. and i think he was happy with the info he got from various responders.

a lot of the other posters, though, haven't even taken the time to search and/or read the others posts in this area on the same topic.....that sort of galls me.

i really like the point re "wanting a woman who shoots" = can you provide a huge house, etc.......

and laika, re asking women about their opinions: i 've seen it happen here only to have a guy chirp up, a pissing contest start, and some of us having to remind the guy that this is a "ladies" forum. in their mind, they're only being helpful and wanting to make sure we have the right info......forgetting that there are some women here who are more than competent, have trained, and even compete.

i'm not sure if the moderators read this area much but i will say things are better than when this forum first started.

LOL I love it! You post this and the very next post is.... "What should I buy my wife"!

But yes good points on everything. Especially the creepy "I wanna female shooting buddy to go out in the woods privately with me" That one had the creepy factor x10!

Now another note it would be nice to have a little more activity on our forum. But the same questions over and over get a little old.

I don't mind if men post in here since I post on other forums on this site. As long as the man/men are not being intentionally mean to the gals on here once we've given our opinions/comments, I figure the 1st Amendment pertains to everyone here.

It's all about the open mindedness of learning about shooting and what I believe a lot of the guys are trying to figure out about women and firearms. I ask my fair share of questions for both shooting and fishing -- because I want to improve -- not because I'm looking for a date. This is not to say that going to the range is not a good date

Not a big deal to me but it did leave an impression.

I was wavering over building an AR or going Mini14 (chose the latter, love it to death) and posted here what the ladies thought and got a PM the next morning telling me some guy had made comments questioning my sexual orientation and that the reader had flagged that post.

I don't denigrate any sexual orientation but I was kind of wondering how my post made this nutcase think I was asking for a female to female date because I was asking women to tell me which .223 or .556 platform to go with.

Overall, I wish we had a different place to talk woman to woman. Not saying the guys are banned, just saying "Really? I want to buy a mini 14 and you're calling me a lesbian? If i WERE ONE OK but I can't even post here anymore without that issue?

Wish we had a place. And Gina, we will head to SLOSA one day and shoot our little heads off! You can try my new handgun.

... got a PM the next morning telling me some guy had made comments questioning my sexual orientation and that the reader had flagged that post.
So far, I think no Calgunner has called me a lesbian, either in a thread or by PM, for my being a female into guns and motorcycles. (But I've been called other things, like troll, socialist, Democrat. lol) So far, the only guys to cast the L word at me were (1) the guy in my Econ 101 class -- he let me borrow his notes on one condition: that I have lunch with him. A no brainer! Free notes and food. Gee! But then when I said, after we munched on some KFC lol!, Hey, this ain't a date and no sex, buddy, that's when he said, You must be a lesbian. Huh? lol; and (2) some jerk on BARF who got mad that I posted he not bully another female online (sadly on another motorcycle forum, where folks basically are free to say whatever they want but then voluntarily delete their threads after the forum owner reminds them a certain sensibility is required of every adult, online she turned out to be rather vile, given to distortions and lies). The male BARFer and I had met only once -- he installed the axle sliders on my DRZ -- for free! (Then he bought a set for his DRZ and posted about them, with pictures, never mentioning I was the one who "brought" them to his attention.) We used his garage and his tools -- and boy, was he POed that I publicly chastised him. So POed in fact that he sent me two nasty PMs, one of 'em saying, You lesbian you.

I like guys, I've loved genuinely a few guys, and I've enjoyed lusting with them too. For sure, I enjoy talking with men. Women, meh. What do I have in common with most of them besides my gender? Children? Nope. Clothes? Nope. Makeup? Pu-leeze. That stuff costs money and, as much as I've tried, my lifestyle and oily face just have no use for it. High heels? Ouch! I've already crippled myself just walking in normal shoes. Purses? Well, I do have a bunch of those. Guns? [Sigh] So few women own them where I live. And when I've been at the range, socializing with men and the occasional woman is just not on my mind. Being friendly and chatting some, even sharing pistols to try out, that I have done. But I don't think of that as socializing. More like being a fellow gun enthusiast.

I forget which female CGNer posted that she doesn't spend much time around women and I certainly can relate with her attitude. But still I enjoy socializing with some women on occasion. And since most female Calgunners tend to be bright, articulate and not given to being mean deliberately, I enjoy the few cyber discussions we female gun enthusiasts have had here. And I've shot with at least two female CGNers, one of whom is a lesbian, I believe. And guess what? She didn't turn me into one! lol

The thing we have to remember is the threads that get bumped also show up in the New Posts thingee. For what it's worth, I've noticed that some CGNers with opinions, who've posted and then realized they replied in the Ladies Forum, will also edit their posts to say they're guys. So I'm thinking that if they're that thoughtful to own up to being males and answering when their male POV was not solicited, then they're probably not so full of themselves and their thoughts are worth at least considering.

But the guys who post without thinking or reading Dreaded Claymore's sticky, well, if they're not dumb, then they're probably just fixated on the idea of pleasing their woman. Honestly I don't mind the latter kind of thread. But I probably won't post in it either, because, Come on, buddy! I want to say. Read the Ladies Forum stickies! lol

For sure, I'll make an exception for 9mmepiphany's opinion. When it comes to firearms and shooting behavior, he's a straight shooter and what he posts tend not only to ring authentic and true but also educational.

I too would like to see more women posting. I think of posting but I am not always sure what to post. Do you ladies prefer only gun posts or other stuff as well, for example prepping? I know there are outdoors/survival/hunting sections in the general area that discuss these things and sometimes I post there. I am a newer member and don't want to be annoying you other ladies if the interest isn't there.

MrsFS, post away! only way to find out if there is interest....and i'm betting there is. OHOD is female, camps and fishes solo....not sure if she hunts or not.

i rec'd an private e-mail from another female calgunner telling me i'd been called out in a thread in off topic as "the resident calgun lesbian"....LOL! no matter that i mention my husband! she reported it and the post was "gone". it does seem like some calgunners just can't get past the fact that there are strong, opinionated female voices.....and if they are strong voices that disagree with their predominate view, well then, that woman must be a lesbian. so much for being united behind the 2A.

Well honestly, I don't mind guys posting, its just its repeated over and over and over. I believe holding/handling and deciding if wanting to try renting, is best, besides the general vague suggestions. There should be a IF YOU ARE BUYING A GUN FOR A WOMAN, thread, and have pistols, revolvers, and broken further into plastic ones, yada yada.

Cause what works for me, may not be loved for another. I may like weighted GRP feel of a Hawk, but it may seem ungodly heavy for someone else, thats ok. They may want a lighter smith revolver or ruger, instead of 1911. And so on.

But I've said this before, I had another account on here once. LONG LONG time ago, where I didn't mind disclosing who I was, got more than I bargained for from guys. So time passed, eventually came back, and made a new handle, thankfully no more PM's about meeting up, or pushy guys rofl.

And I post on a few other forums as well, just usually in a place like this? I'd like it a bit more understood guys shouldn't just post in here randomly, they have an entire other forum to cohabitate lol.

If I am in here and trying to discuss maybe the issues of a certain sling, and if or, anyone else in here has suggestions for a shotgun they built a certain way cause maybe, like me; they are small and a little weak to carry things like a 590A1 lol.

Or other items of discussion aimed towards our gender lol, for replies from/for US, not guys, cause sometimes I don't think they understand certain things like BOOB dynamics Stuff gets in the way.

Gun buying topics enough as it is, can be generally understood, I think a broad definative thread should be up. Clear up the stickies a bit. So they dont have to keep posting thread after thread.

On another note, had ALOT of guys harassing me why I needed a shorter rifle, its like hello, I am really small...lol. And here in Texas, I am legal to have one lol. Got alot of flack for saying what I needed, cause I am not a guy, larger toys are harder for me to handle honestly lol.

But eh. No harm no foul anymore, just wanted to voice this isnt a dating site. And like all things, the fun of shooting is LEARNED, so if one was looking for a long term relationship, with someone who loves to shoot? They should know two things:
