Deadlier than the male? More women are hunters

Good stuff, glad to read more ladies are gravitating toward hunting. It really is a great way to spend the day, bond with family and hunting friends, get some good exercise and the food is delicious, fresh and lean.

The male-dominated sport is attracting female fans at a fast clip, and inspiring an industry. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/451945...s#.TriHBfQtHZA

Funny that you just posted this. I was just telling the hubby that I wanted to go wild boar hunting with him next time. He was kinda surprised but also excited. He did tell me that I needed to practice more before he would take me. I agree. It's probably been 6-8 months since I have shot anything. Hopefully going this weekend to practice, if the weather cooperates. My friends at work think I am a little odd when I bring leftovers for lunch, venison shepards pie or wild boar italian sausage stuffed shells. Fresh wild meat is the best!

yes, you will need a lot more practice, MrsFS. wild boar hunting is very very dangerous. definitely not for the faint of heart. the way i understand it, they are smart and they will charge you when you don't expect it.

Where's your location when you go hunting for boar?

My Better Half has expressed an interest in it now that he has my dad's Winchester

Yeah those boars are brutal and mean. My husband was charged last time and had to finish the job with his Glock at about 6ft. He said his heart almost jumped out of his chest.

My hubby usually goes in the Santa Maria area on private property. It seems like there would be a lot of ranches looking to get rid of wild boar. I don't think Cali is quite as over run as Texas (try watching American Hoggers) but they are still very destructive here.

Thanks... I figured the majority would be way out of our area (SF Bay Area) and had friends go past the Carmel Valley area.

We're bass anglers, so I'd have to block out the 2012 calendar for him

Third, if anyone does try to do something to you without your consent, any and all resistance is justified.
