    S&W MP .22

Hey ladies! Has anyone had a chance to fire the S&W MP .22? Does anyone own one? Thoughts on it, if so? I'm really interested in it (although it seems super pricey for a .22!)

    Thanks!

Is it the one that has the AR platform and if so, what's the retail price of the one you're looking at?

I know very little about rifles and so am asking

Haven't shot the S&W M&P 22LR but did get to shoot recently two S&W Model 41 22LR pistols. Great guns with fabulous triggers and very beautiful. But whoa! Heavy.

Do the gun shops near you have the S&W M&P 22LR in stock?

I'm guessing that the discounted retail price is about $380, which is comparable to some of the better Browning Buck Mark 22LRs. Gallery of Guns (aka Davidson's, one of the few firearms wholesalers/distributor to US gun stores) is currently out of stock on these pistols. If you give GoG a call and talk to one of its sales reps, you'll be able to find out its discounted retail price to better negotiate with your local gun shops.

If you are looking at it as a trainer for a M&P9/40/45, look somewhere else.

This gun isn't a .22lr version of the S&W M&P. It is an .22lr semi-auto pistol that has an exterior made to look like an M&P. It has a completely different trigger, it has a hammer and the backstraps aren't interchangeable

            What he said.

Also, the handgun is not made by S&W. It is made by Umarex for S&W.

Check out the sig mosquito. They cost less and they are good little guns. I use them for teaching!!

Why do you prefer the Mosquito over a .22lr conversion on a full sized gun?

Except they are not full sized and they are jam-o-matic.

I'm not a huge fan of the mosquito, it isn't comfortable to shoot (for me) Im still set on my Walther for target shooting, but was curious about the M&P when I saw it in one of our (hundred) gun magazines... Next purchase might be a .38

On the .38, unless you really need a smaller gun, I'd suggest you look at the medium frame sizes. They are much easier to learn to shoot a revolver with
