Hello everyone! I wasn't sure where to post first but since this is the ladies section I decided to post here. I am a first time hand gun owner and plan to get a few more as well!

My gun of choice was a Springfield XD9 V10. Small enough for me to grip and handle. I really like the feel of it.

Welcome to the forums! Xd9 is a nice little weapon, I rented one a few days ago to see how it handled.

Be warned its an addicting habit purchasing a firearm. Kinda like M&M's you can't just have one

I finally got to shoot my gun yesterday!!! and also got to shoot 2 other hand guns and a carbine type gun. All this on our 5th year anniversary of being married. What a way to celebrate!

I have shot my friends XD9 and my husbands HK .45 USP, both are great guns with some recoil but when I shot my XD9 vented I swear it was like comparing a bumpy road to a smooth newly paved road. I felt like I didn't even have to grip it hard and I could keep on the target without much adjusting. Plus it looked like my gun had bunny ears of fire every time I shot it!

Both my friend and husband shot my gun also and they were amazed by it. Now my husband wants to get the XD .40 vented lol.
I also shot my husbands JR Carbine .45 and it is fun except for all the problems it had, but now I want to get my own.

The one bad part of the night I messed up a few of my nails lol and one of the jewels stuck on my gun and it looked pretty nice!

As for the advice about the significant other, sorry but I just can't do that. I doubt that he would give me bad advice or habits that would do me or anyone harm. None the less as a precaution we are both going to take the hand gun safety class which is free ( I think). Thank you for your consideration and concern for my safety as well as others.

For the glock comment.........um nope! Sorry not right now. I know that it is similar in look some what, and I'm sure that they both shoot great. But you have to actually like the way the gun looks also. If it just dose not appeal to you why buy it only to regret it later.
