    thought I'd share...

Before you go on reading, I wanted to make sure it's understood that I think very highly of my girlfriend. Like many of you women, she picked up shooting very, VERY quickly and seems to excel in it faster than most men I've shot/trained with.

So you had a bad day and your girlfriend shot really well... ok... why not be happy for her and go on about your day?

We all have our off days. Just be happy your girlfriend shot amazingly considering it was only her second time handling a gun!

Why can't you just accept that she's better than you are?

Sounds about right. I'm a woman and have been shooting for many many years. Took out a friend the other day who has never shot in her life. Taught her all the important safety stuff, told her to be prepared for the recoil (.40 cal). She was centering all her shots right into center mass. Me on the other hand have a slightly new prescription for glasses in which they are trying to correct vision in one weaker eye which really messed up my aim. I was still very proud of her and glad I could lend a hand on teaching her the fundamentals! I just had to kept hiding my targets everytime I pulled them back LOL!

i don't think you're irritated with her as much as you are at the other guy and yourself. actually, i'm not sure you are even upset about any of it at all. it does seem that you find it "ironic" that in your less than perfect day you had a man point out the obvious to you.

actually, by some standards, you had a great day. for others there was cancer, death of a loved one, a horrible car accident, etc. in comparison your problems are merely blimps that won't even be remembered in 20 years........

btw, your girlfriend is a "keeper": she went with the flow of the day and still had a good day at the range with you. but i'm betting you know that already

Hey, I'm posting this all in good fun. My girlfriend tends to do better than I in many shooting sports. This isn't the first time she's handled a firearm, just a shotgun. She's got several guns, shoots with me almost on a weekly basis, and beats me regularly. I'm never afraid to admit it, either. I'm very proud of her ability to shoot, and have a great time losing to her!
