      Welcome to CGN

I'm sure the LEOs on here will be very helpful. Aside from budget restraints, you may find yourself being a Reserve until there's an opening, plus putting yourself through the academy to get your POST paperwork in order.

A few of my female friends went the route of being either CSOs or dispatchers first until they could get enough funds to complete academy training.

      Best of luck to you!

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm starting to toss around the idea of putting myself through the academy rather than waiting for a dept to sponsor me. do you know which academy in southern california is the best for paying my way through?

Sorry, I'm up North, so my info wouldn't be much help. You may be able to start with the JCs near you to see if they offer academy training; one our JCs in Napa has such a program.

I'd also go into the LEO Forum and post that question since there seem to be a few guys in Riverside -- they may know of an academy to direct you to.

                          Welcome and goodluck!

Any plans for the Glock? My setup is vickers tac extended slide stop, extended magazine latch, grip plug, new threaded barrel. I use a raven kydex holster on my right side. I also keep 4 magazine holsters on my left. Running an X300 light too.

                              Hi onequickshift,
Sounds like you have a cool setup tho. When I pick up my gun tomorrow Im going to have them switch out the original magazine release with a bigger one. I like it better cause it makes it a lot easier for me to drop the mag with a one hand grip. I also want to add on a rubber grip. Past that, I'm not too sure yet
