Savannah - I know someone with an insulin pump and it is hard to place the gun where it will not get hung up. They basically do the same as you.

The only thing I heard bad about placing it on your lower back - if you fall - that is metal against the spine. Some people have gotten some bad spinal injuries falling on the gun - however, you have to do what you have to do. AND it is not a lousy job, by you, of concealing a gun. Carry on

Where are we on ankle holsters? I'm a jeans and boots girl most of the time in the winter and could easily manage this. But I'm not sure about draw time (bend over, move jean leg, grab, up again, aim fire).

I think I just talked myself out of this... Anybody?

I'm a little iffy on the ankle holster because I worry that if I have to draw it, I have to bend over and take my eye off the perp and I don't think that is a good idea. Also, at my age and weight, bending over can be a problem. LMAO

Gawd, I just read back through my post and I sounded semi drunk! Ok, really drunk, but I wasn't.

I worry about conceal carry because of my pump. I'm not CCW licensed yet. I know I can't do the under breast thing cuz I am smaller in that area. Back of pants or hip, I worry about entanglement in my pump. Ankle just seems clumsy and pockets are too small. I guess I could put the pump on the other side, but that is a lot to lug around on my waistband.

When I said I wondered how many people thought I did a lousy job at conceal carry, I meant that my pump is forever sticking out like a giant lump on my back. I never thought someone might think it was a weapon.

I swear, I wasn't drinking this morning. LOL.

Maybe I am drunk but I understood that. LMAO I have some friends that wear chemo pumps and insulin pump and they have been asked if they are carrying due to the bump that the pump creates so it made sense to me.

Ankle holsters. If I wore one, it would just be for back up in case something happened to my primary gun.

Now, back to holsters: Leather or composite?

Leather is nicer, gets soft with use. Composite is custom-built for a given gun, water proof. Galco was recommended. Sells both.
