    Handgun Training

Hello, I am in oceanside, sd county, and although I can safely teach my girlfriend how load properly load/unload my glock 17, I am by no means an expert. I realy believe that she could benefit greatly from learning from a woman instead of a man, and there is a place called Iron Sights indoor shooting range, and there are certified weapons instructors but they are men, I would like to know if there are any certified weapons instructors in my area in sd county. she had was involved in a car accident many years ago, broke her arm and now never has had the same use of her arm and she thinks that the slide on a semi auto is to heavy or hard to use. thank you for your time and advice.

You might also think about having her sign up for Women on Target (through the NRA). The San Diego WOT is in Alpine at Lemon Grove Gun Club range every three months. My wife and I usually coach handguns (we start out with 22s and have others available if the women wants to shoot more). As for the slide, it would really depend on the gun. Iron Sights has a lot of choices for rentals, and you may want to try her out on a few semis and revolvers.
