I need help planning my GF's birthday

    Hi Ladies of Calguns!

My girlfriend and I have birthdays about a week apart. She planned a weekend getaway for the two of us (we are going to Monterey), so now I dont know what to do for her. I'm working on a limited budget (I'm building her a new pistol, she knows that there's money going towards that). So, does anyone have any ideas as to what to do?

love letter, buy her that special food she likes, look good for her, tell her shes beautiful, and cheap flowers. Keep it plain and simple.

Maybe something in Monterey you guys can go to? My bf took me to the aquarium there as a surprise. It was nice.

Advice from an old lady: spend quality time with her. "Buying" stuff is always ok, but "doing" something for her goes a long way. Just make her feel like she's pampered/spoiled. Tell her she's the best thing that has ever happened to you.

How good are you at being her cabana boy?

Brownie points... make as many as you can with her !

Sounds like you already are doing something for her.

I remember driving home from Carmel during the Superbowl after an "us" weekend.

Sure didn't feel like "we" were doing exactly what "we" wanted to do.

Send her to a spa or massage for the day (under $100) and cook dinner for her. It's not about money spent, but it is about time invested.

Look for a Bed-and-Breakfast place in Carmel. Opps I am in the ladies forum. LOL

Well, she's already planned a weekend for my birthday, which is only a week before hers, so it would be repetitive to spend another weekend for "alone time" back to back, right? I was thinking about sending her to a spa, but just found out that she has a spa day planned for the weekend in Monterey (I've never been to a spa, nor do I know what to expect... ). I was thinking about taking her horseback riding up in Point Reyes, but when I called them, they have a weight limit of 220, and I'm 235, so that might be out the window. This is driving me crazy, but please keep the ideas coming, I'm running out of them.

                Does she like boating?

I always thought beaching the boat in a cove was nice -- and away from the crowds

Has she planned everything in Monterey? If so following weekend pack a picnic take her for a drive to a great spot. Have everything (wine food flowers present) in a basket and duffel/cooler in trunk hidden ready to go. Just get her in the car and go.

boating is pretty much out of the question, her and I both can't swim!!!!!! Besides, Jaws has been on TV recently, so yeah. Thanks Peter B.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not the romatic type, but I know she likes it from time to time. Her idea of a good time is going to the range... I just go to reload her mags. We shoot about once a week or more, so I cant exactly use that as her birthday present. hahaha
