Looked like a great camp when it came to my area until I saw the price tag. $675 as I recall - I could put that toward a nice AR or a Mosin sniper.

For half the price they'd have twice the "campers" I think.

How many days is $675 supposed to cover?

You're right... I'd buy a new 1911 or another fish finder for the boat

2-3 days - great idea, just too much $ sadly.

You guys are DEAD WRONG about the cost being too HIGH. I tried for 30 years to get my wife to shoot. Finally, through a series of unrelated events that included the theft of her sewing machine, I sent my wife to "Babes with Bullets" and she came back a completely transformed woman. She loves to shoot. AS far as the price goes.
          Price includes:
          - World Class instruction by Woman Champion Shooters.
          - Lodging in a NICE CONDOMINIUM
          - FOOD, really good "Chick" food according to my wife (Salads and nice vegis and meats). None of the hot dog and hamburger junk you would expect.
          - They also included the guns courtesy of S&W (M&P 9mm and 22 rimfires) You have to buy ammo.

Don't be selfish guys!! If you want a life long shooting partner, send her to Babes with Bullets!!!

I'm glad you're wife had an enjoyable time there.

As for my saying the amount was high, that was based on what I'd like to achieve from shooting and has nothing to do with my being right or wrong. I've been to Masters' Camp in Colorado Springs because I felt the training under the US Shooting Team's Pistol Coach would benefit me for my shooting goals.

If a Lady Calgunner enjoys Babes With Bullets, I'm supportive of that. I'm only speaking for myself and don't think I'm wrong for applying my funds elsewhere.

You've missed my meaning. I certainly would not criticize anyone on how they view the value. I was trying to make the point that you get A LOT for the price!

I'm pretty sure my local B w B training was a "drive through" or locals only training, nothing said about hotels or food in the postings on the range bulletin board or the link I followed.

If women/ladies sign up and attend and feel they got their money's worth, I'm all over happy with that! I just know for me I'd rather put that kind of $ toward a mosin sniper - and knowing Appleseed is coming to Santa Barbara County, I'll lean more that way.

But thanks for posting for all the women who will be interested.

I went to the BwB camp in SLO last year. It's largely about action pistol competition, part of the fee goes towards USPSA membership. The shared lodging (at a very large house) and food was included in the fee, and the instructors Kay and Annette were there too! If you used the BwB guns (M&Ps, and 22As for the first few exercises, plus I shot a slicked up revolver) then you used factory ammo, which could be purchased there. About 14 women, 2 newbies, 3 experienced USPSA competitors, and the rest with varying levels of shooting experience. There were no cameras at this particular BwB camp.

Action pistol demands speed, "good enough" accuracy, plus strategy. The BwB environment allows women to be supported while they explore the sport, sans testosterone, with experienced competitors/coaches. There were some women there who became involved with action shooting after learning to shoot at BwB camps. There's a ton of bonding both on and off the range.

I believe in the value of getting good instruction, followed by lots and lots and LOTS of practice, in order to get the most out of my hardware. I understand that people have different budgets and different life priorities. I definitely recommend the BwB experience to anyone with an interest in learning about action pistol.
