new firearm cleaning product for women?

My company is the distributor for FROGLUBE, a 100% biodegradable cleaner, lubricant and perservative for firearms. FROGLUBE has a pleasant odor and your firearm will require less frequent cleaning because FROGLUBE won't allow carbon to stick to the gun and lubricates as you shoot. It also softens skin.

The product is green in color and smells minty. Now you can clean your firearms in the house wiithout the odor of other CLPs.

I came up with the idea of making FROGLUBE pink and adding a flower scent. Would this appeal to any female shooters? My wife loves the idea.

Can you disclose what it consists of since it's environmentally friendly?

Not from this household, it won't. I am not a fan of making things pink and marketing those things to women, as if we're such shallow, ignorant creatures that the mere color will make us buy things.

If your cleaning product does a good job, I might buy it. I might not. I like the smell of traditional cleaners. But if it's marketed in pink, I'll go out of my way NOT to buy it.

I already avoid pointlessly pink products (razorblades and shaving cream, for example.)

The idea of making a differently scented gun cleaner isn't a bad one (though personally, I love the smell of Hoppes.) There are probably other scents which might go over better than flowers -- vanilla? Citrus (though making that not overpowering will be challenging.) Personally I prefer more "masculine" scents like sandalwood or cedar, but to each their own.

Not hot on pink either, but was curious about the ingredient(s). Really, I was hoping for something along the lines of the dishwasher...

Yeah, the whole "smell fresh and looks pretty" line won't go over well with women who are cleaning their own guns.

Sort of like marketing selling playboy subscriptions in West Hollywood. Sounds good on paper, but may not get the results you want.

              FrogLube CLP

Thanks for your thoughts. I like the citrus smell idea.

FrogLube is 100% american plant material. There are 19 different natural ingredients in FrogLube. We have it in paste and liquid form. We eat it as we're demonstrating it at gun shows. The MSDS is all "0" and N/A, meaning you can flush FrogLube down the drain and throw away rags without fear of combustion.

Most petrochemical CLPs have a flash point of 125 degrees F. FrogLube has a flash point of 700 degrees F.

I have had other people they like the smell of Hoppes, but I have be forced to clean my guns in the garage for the past 20 years.

FYI, We will be at the Orange County Fairgrounds this weekend. Besides FrogLube, we sell unique accessories for black rifles from Elzetta, Stark Equipment, Sixell and Phase 5. We also have the best quality bullet button tool on the market.

We are typically in the middle of the north west corner building. Look for the flashing Power Flares.

A agree with the other posters.
I can't stand pink guns. Pretty wrenches and cleaners that smell like perfume.

                I wouldn't buy it.
                CLR or Hoppes for me.

Pink Froglube is on my Christmas List!
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

                    Softens skin? Awesome.

How does this compare to M-pro 7?

                      COMPARISON to M Pro-7

FrogLube is non-toxic, biodegradable and smells like mint. It is designed to clean, lubricate and prevent rust without any petrochemicals. FrogLube has a 700 F degree flashpoint, too.

From my experience, with Hoppes and M Pro-7, the smell and runny liquid have always been an issue. FrogLube Paste, stays where you put it. FrogLube liquid has a consistancy similar to dish soap. It is not messy to work with. You can clean your guns with your bare hands.

My 33 year old Colt 1911 slide is smoother than ever, and there is NO OIL in the gun. Same with my Stag AR-15, no oil but better lubricated then before.

I eat FrogLube as part of my demonstration. You can't do that with M Pro-7

I can also use FrogLube to waterproof boots and melt rust off of just about anything.

It does soften skin, too. It can be used as a first aid ointment, and as an added bonus, it crystallizes ants.

                      More important: "it just works"

I'll be demonstrating and eating FrogLube at the Del Mar Gun Show on Dec 18-19. Look for the banner with the FrogLube & ROK Strap logos.

Our FrogLube kit makes a great stocking stuffer!

I dunno. My girlfriend loves when I use hoppes.

She hates the smell of the carbon killer orange stuff.

Hmm. Well, I'm sold. I was just about out of crystallized ants and wondering how to get more...

                            the ant thing

Maybe I should address the 'crystallized ant' statement.

The owner of FrogLube's mother in law was having an ant problem at her house. So she took some FrogLube paste and put it around the dog's food bowl and on the seal of her garage freezer just to see what it would do.

Most of the ants avoided the FrogLube, but the ones that came into contact with it had the "life" sucked out of them and when touched, turned to dust.

While we don't sell it as a bug spray, it is just another wonderful benefit. Think about all of the uses for WD-40 that people have come up with.
