    Drop holster

I am helping a friend with the IDPA sport. She bought a "drop offset holster" from Bladetech for her Glock 34, she likes the drop part but she does not like the way it makes the gun tilt away from her body (the offset). She is now back to a regular Blackhawk Serpa and I may have to make a plate to drop that holster. Any other ladies have any suggestions ?

    thanks,

    Tom

    Not a lady.
I saw a Bladetech set-up over on M4carbine.net in a thread on battle belts that might help.
There has been some info about bending Kydex over there as well . I have never bent the stuff myself.
    Hope this helps.

Might give a try to doing a "dry fit" of placing layers of neoprene on the bottom half of the drop holster while the shooter is wearing it. If this slight adjustment of angle works to correct the angle of the handle to the shooter's liking, I would make a permanent "fix" by installing some heat formed kydex to the bottom backside of the holster, with a single layer of the neoprene for comfort.

I have seen ladies in IPSC and PPC do this same modification with leather holsters.

A better belt might help. Make sure she looks up the information on IDPA rules on belt width, if any.

Good point . A battle belt would not be in the spirit of IDPA.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to start with her serpa holster and remove the holster body from the belt attachment and add a piece of metal to drop the holster body 1 1/2" or so. This would make the drop no longer than the drop-offset rig.
