Mother In Law Wants to Come to the Range!!!

Just learned from my better half, that her mom has asked if she can come to the range with us, next time we go! I haven't scheduled the date, just yet. She's had a little shooting experience, but is very rusty. She's interested in shooting our 10/22 and doesn't think that the .45 will be a good idea.

My father in law (her husband) has a .22 pistol & a .357 pistol... both revolvers. There's a slim chance he may send her out with those, as those are kept in the house... and she's never shot either of them. There's an even slimmer chance that I might be able to borrow a 9mm from a friend, for her to try. Either or both, would be cool.

Now... no mother-n-law jokes! I've know this woman for over 22 years and I've been married to her daughter for almost 17. I love & respect her like she raised me herself. I just recently found out that she doesn't worry about her safety, whenever I'm around and that she trusts me with her life.

For you gals in your... um... "golden years"... "Mom" is in her 60's.
Now I just need to get my father in law out there and it'll be the whole fan damily.

I'm both honored and humbled that she's made this request of me.

        Very cool, Mr. O!

Your mother-in-law makes a great role model -- I admire her for her sense of adventure

You can always use .38 specials in the .357 to help her get back into the swing of things. When you mentioned the age bracket of the 60s, I instantly got the image of Helen Mirren in Reds lol -- no one best mess with your mother-in-law

Get her shooting the .22's and have a blast. Anything more will probably be less enjoyable.

That is cool! You have a great family... maybe we'll see them on calguns soon too

A family that goes to the range together - so nice!

That's really great, osokne! I'm of "golden" vintage myself and was terribly recoil-shy for a long time. Just be patient with your MIL and let her set the pace. And I just have to say how fortunate she is to have a SIL like you!

You are indeed fortunate, been married for 27 years, if I took my MIL shooting in may be the last thing that I do.
