Sorry I got around to posting the link so late (I lost it and had to ask the match director for it again - yikes!) -- because I just shot the match in Concord this past Sunday. Lots of Calgunners belong to that range. It's a very nice facility and less of a hassle for me to get to compared to Chabot.

I'm shooting this Sunday at Chabot. It's two matches with .22s for women. The guys will be shooting CF for the second match. Long day, but I'm bringing donuts!

I know it's a haul for you to get up here, but I'm hoping the 2011 calendar of events will offer more locations for people. The CRPA Pistol Committee is working on it

Yes, sorry GF. As I mentioned to another Calgunner in the CRPA Forum, we're trying to work with the match directors of various ranges to offer more matches to people. If you have a favorite range and know some of the people who run it, feel free to have them contact me with their match program or just to chat.

I'm brand new to the CRPA Pistol Committee, but I'm happy to run all the info by the Pistol Chair to help get the participation going for female shooters. I'm really glad to see there's an interest on here from the gals

There's going to be a fun match at Coyote on Halloween morning. My kid likes shooting the bingo cards, so he has a choice of either using a Steyr or a Hammerli

I'm planning on hauling my traditional 10 lbs container of potato salad to the potluck if you San Mateo County girls and your families are interested in visiting the range. Live fire begins at 7:30 AM and ties up around 9:45 AM. Then the chow is on!

Liz David is the Match Director for that Free Pistol match if you'd like to drop her an email to clarify. My understanding is that if you don't belong to USAS, then they don't send your scores in for ranking.

BUT, that's where the fun is -- seeing where you rank in the nationals!

Nationally, this a a Men's Event, so I enjoy shooting it for that very reason -- we chicks are not allowed to shoot it at the Nationals! Yeah, no one said rules were coherent, but the local guys don't give a hoot when Liz or myself (we be the two Lizes - lol) shoot this match with them. It's all about participating, you know?

If you have a .22 and can get the round to land at 50 feet, you're all set. The entire match is precision slow fire. Drives the Action Pistol shooters bonkers However, it's an indoor range and when it's storming in Redwood City, it's a nice change from turning blue.

I'm already squadded for the 2nd Relay (I don't want to get up any earlier than I have so since my normal work day begins at 4:30 AM), so maybe I'll see you?

Very cool. Her telephone number is listed on the match program also. She's an excellent Conventional shooter if you ever want to chat with her about getting into Conventional Bullseye. I hope to shoot CF as well as her some day.

Oh, and if she needs to know how you found out about the match, you can let her know the "other Liz" sent you - lol

FYI: Rifle Clinic - El Monte

Greetings from David Kimes. (PLEASE PASS THE WORD / forward to those who might be interested)

We have a special clinic offering this December at LAR&R in El Monte, California.
The United States Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) is sending out the head coach/instructor
of the International Rifle Team as well as 1st Lt. Chris Abalo - a member of the USAMU
International Rifle Team and instructor.

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested. We would like to have enough
clinic participants in attendance so we can schedule another clinic with the USAMU
in the future - every couple of years?

This clinic will include a two hour class session on Friday afternoon,
then Saturday and Sunday will be interlaced with short class sessions
and longer shooting/coaching sessions.
A short match is planned for Saturday,
and another short match and finals is planned for Sunday - all part of the clinic.
This, in addition to the numerous shooting/coaching sessions during both weekend days.

Please note: even if you only shoot prone, this clinic can be of great value.

I will be in attendance assisting the USAMU instructors.
