Have her try a M&P 9mm with the small grip installed. You can try mine if you want to meet at the range. SDDG or Magnolia. PM if you want to try it...

I have REALLY small hands, but I can shoot a glock 26,19,17 fine. As well kahrs, sigs, and various revolvers I'm about to go pay for a G21, 45acp. And begin waiting 10 days of hell. have her try Kahrs, they are skinny framed, sorta like a 1911, but just smaller and easier to hold imo. I liked them, if I didn't prefer glocks more, I'd have gone with the Kahrs.

+1. My wife shot the M&P9, Browning HP, HK USP9 (way too big for her hands), CZ75. She decided on the M&P because she said it felt right. Funny though she shot the best with my HK USP9... She will just use that as an excuse for more trips to IDPA I bet.

See if you can find a range for her to be able to shoot a bunch of options. My wife was in love with the Browning HP - she just loved the lines and the way it looked. Shooting it made her change her mind though (and I wanted her to get the Browning too!). But it came down to what was comfortable for her and the M&P was a clear choice.

I also wanted her to try a 1911 in 9mm but just can't seem to find one.

My wife is recoil sensitive, so 9mm is the heaviest caliber she'll shoot. She really likes my Ruger SR9. It has an adjustable backstrap like the M&P, the grip is narrow enough for her fingers, and it's light enough for her to hold comfortably.

She also like my Bulgarian Makarov, but ammo for that is not as plentiful or cheap as 9mm parabellum.

I have a 1911 chambered for .38 special WCs. I also have a Colt Ace for .22 -- has she tried .38 rounds?

CZ75 Compact in 9mm. My sons girlfriend owns one. Smallish, not very heavey, very accurate.

Yes, .38 special WC. Load-X supplies my ammo; Steve has seen my Colt 1911.
