    Nightime

I took a pretty fun light course today! It was nice. Got a chance to learn difference light hold positions and how to enter an enclosed area (I.e. Rooms, housing area) to search for possible adversaries. Neat!!! I tell you. It's all about learning and tackling it head first. It was a great class. 5-midnight but lasted thru 230 am... I had a mega size monster and a sugarfree redbull (large) ... Now, I can't sleep! But I wanted to share my experience and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on another good place to go... Btw, I'm headed to frontsight in December ; ) ... Thanks!

Curious, was the advice to use a hand held light, turning the light on and off, and holding the light away from your body?

Or, was the instruction with a mounted light on the handgun?

I took a short course at Firearms Training Associates http://www.ftatv.com/surefire-institute in Norco at Rahaaugees, at the time, the instruction was not to use a weapon mounted light, as the light itself becomes a target when used, and to only pulse the light to momentarily see, not continuous use of light.

Sorry but that sounds disgusting lol how did you not throw up?
Why wouldn't you just take a couple No-Doz?

The class sounds pretty cool though. Was it handguns only or did you use rifles or shotguns as well?

PM me if you are interested in the course/instructor. I took a peak at the link you provided, this last one was less formal, but more friendly on the pocket book with lotsa info.
What is the situation for flooding yourself, with you own light?

          That sounds cool!

I wonder if there are similar classes in my area.

Also, any stuff you mind sharing?

Yes, monster and redbull within 6 hrs kinda icky in hindsight lol!

Sajedene, one thing someone told me was that there is no where you can't take your light, it's useful and can be intimidating on the other end. Us being chicas, the more tools we use in our defense, the better. Since learning more about them, I'll probably always have one on me now.

^^^ Again, curious, what qualifications, if any, does the instructor of the class have?^^

Cool, so when you were using long guns did you still hold your light in your hand? Or was it weapon mounted?

Noted! I was shopping for some pepper spray (those pink ones are cute!) might as well pick up a decent pocket light for myself.

If you are ever in So Cal, Lemon Grove Rod and Gun holds a night fun shoot every other friday. Safety is paramount, but we do keep score. Usually run 5 stages with a couple in twilight, although soon, they will all be in the dark. My wife has shot it twice and had a great time as well. Rimfire or centerfire is allowed...
