Check out the HK P2000. Multiple grip sizes to fit a variety of hands.

    AND...........it's an HK

I own several Berettas and have found them all to have large grips, which can make them difficult for the ladies.

How about a Beretta 92FS Compact Type M? It took me a while to find one, but it is now one of my GF's favorites, along with the Sig P6. Both of these are smallish single stack 9mm's, so they are better suited to smaller hands. Plus they're "name brand!" She also likes the Sig P239, but that's out of my price range!

Also, as is always said, have her shoot a few before you buy, everyone's different!

I respect your opinion about Glocks and I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience when trying out range guns (they aren't always taken care of properly when they are rentals).

I personally love my Glock 19, it is my first gun handy for home protection and it is my main gun when I do competition shooting. But out of respect, I would suggest checking out Sig 2009 (9mm), a used one doesn't cost as much....Or try the Kimber Ultra SP2 (45) or something long those lines..in talking to other women they seem to like more of a compact style due to hand size....

Just a suggestion, see if you can find someone who would be willing to let your Lady try their handguns to see if she likes it or not...(I like range guns but they will act differently because of the abuse they endure. They don't always act good either.)

Nothing says "I love you" like a gun. (Or it at least says "I trust you.")

I'll reiterate my earlier post. I've owned my Glock 19 since the 1980s and the only misfeed was with a handload. I've found it utterly reliable, but it only wants factory ammo.

The Advantage Arms .22 conversion for the Glock is a pleasure, too.

I love my Glock 19 - never had a misfeed. It's easy to clean. I have to agree the rentals do not reflect reliable "wear and tear". The Sigs I tried at the rental counter had numerous misfeeds. It put me off Sig til I tried a newly purchased Sig P226 belonging to a friend of my husband. Sweeet gun! Now I want one only I'd like the Blackwater P226 in 9mm. Need to wait a bit, but it's worth the wait.
