    PLEASE READ THIS.

Today I was notified of several posts made in a thread in this forum that were very inappropriate. Those posts have been removed and the members posting them will not be back in this forum again.

There are some things about this that concern me however.

First off these posts are disconcerting:

It's comments like these that make me hesitant to post on CG, even in our own ladies forum.
That posts like this should have to be posted in the Ladies Forum is greatly troubling.

What is also troubling is that much of this started back in November and January and I'm just finding out about it.

Please use the 'Report Post' button when there is a problem.
Think of it as the "In case of troglodyte break glass" lever.

In order for this forum to fulfill it's design we will need help from those posting in it.
I am also looking at the possibility of appointing a specific Mod to each Specialty forum pulled from that forum. As this progresses I will post more on it.

How do we expect to expand the shooting world if people are afraid to post due to comments that maybe made, Some people need to grow up and see that if we can encourage more women to join us shooting we will be able to enjoy the sport more.
My only problem with shooting with my wife and daughter is they are better at it then I am, and I shoot more!
Please do not make inappropriate comments no matter what the gender of the poster is.
    Thanks Kestryll

It's sad that some see the need to make such posts. But frankly, I'm a little surprized that it's taken this long for those people to surface in this forum.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

That's really sad. It's a good thing people like that won't be a part of the forum anymore

Personally to me? Its like with cars, bikes, trucks etc. I am small in frame and weigh barely 90 or so pounds. So I am not very big lol, and look rather girly as my bf puts it. I have a heavily built sti and evo, I also am completing my new camaro for the Sema auto show in nov. I just took delivery of a supercharged Ford Raptor, and I have a 06 3500 chevy dually, I ride a gsxr 6, cati monster, sportster and a cbr.

I intend to buy a LWRCI PSD and REPR after I become a perm resident in Colorado. I drift my rwd import cars like my 240sx, my bf's s15 silvia. I have a few old muscle cars, like a 66 stang fastback, a 71 monte carlo, 68 ss chevelle and etc.

I go fishing, I go hiking. Off roading and I stunt my spare suzuki gsxr. I have my own snap on tool set at my bfs in their own toolbox. I have a craftsman set at my parents house, and have another set in CO in the house I just bought.

Big Brake stoptechs, or brembos? Sure, I like those, 4 lug to 5 lug 90 mustang notchback with a new 2011 ford 5.0 motorset? sure.

I may be of the opposite gender, but I don't let anyone tell me its the less of the two. Pfft. And as for sensitivity on forums? It just comes with the territory, as long as someone isn't vulgar and outright disgustingly rude, than I don't really care.

I like shooting, I like working on cars and bikes, I like doing alot of stuff most consider a guys thing lol. And I am happy to see more and more women also getting into shooting for a hobby and or practice for home defense.

I usually don't let on that I am not a guy for a while, some pick up on it, but most don't other wise I rarely say anything on other forums.

Being polite and a good person has nothing to really do with gender, honestly. But some people have the need or driven tendency to be semi douche bags. lol. But whatever, doesn't really concern me. If you can't come into things with a thicker skin to jokes or just a guy oriented and dominated area, than what do you expect to come from it? If people are just rough, its ok. BUT, if they are really rude, and make lude comments, than let them know. Don't take crap from anyone, report report report. lol.

Hope everyone understands that, other people regardless of sex, race, creed. Are entitled to fair good standing treatment. I hope everyone can behave themselves and act like adults, not as stupid children on video game networks playing shooter games and being juvenile about things.

On a side not I don't expect to be treated like a flower and talked all sweetly too. I am not here for that, I am here to learn about fire arms I may be interested in, ask Qs of owners, or get help figuring stuff out or becoming better informed. Thats all. Not to have flame wars, or get talked down on.

But for the most part? 99% of my experiences on here and at ranges? Has been awesome, great people, great guys, no problems. So hope everyone is having a good week!

I'm new to Calguns and I'm female. Sad to hear people are abusing this space and very happy to hear y'all take it seriously.
I also wanted to share my website with y'all - I created it just for ladies who are interested in shooting, but also like a lot of other girlie things. Check it out if you have time and let me know what you think! It's called Girl's Guide to Guns. Here's the link:
Finding the fabulous in firearms, where women learn more about guns, shooting sports, firearm inspired fashion, guns in Hollywood and more.

I can only imagine what the original posts contained. I wish I could apologize to these women for what was said. I am sure their opinions are the minority.

              P.S.

Thank you Kestryll. My b/f and I were discussing my sadness about this forum just this past weekend; I would like some women's input on building an AR but I didn't feel comfortable posting in the ladies' forum for some of the reasons mentioned.

I love the forums here and have learned a lot. I'm not overly sensitive, have worked with all guys in the past, but it would be nice to have a ladies' forum where I hear from ladies and not just guys. I don't want anyone made unhappy or punished - just want a place where we women can discuss some of the women's fun side of shooting.

                  Thanks again.

Apparently you had a bad experience, and I'm sorry that I'm just reading about it now. I hope you don't think that the average Calgunner on here is insensitive when you're trying to learn about the AR.

If you're not aware of it already, that's what the Mods are here for. Please don't hesitate to speak to a Mod if you think someone is acting inappropriately towards you. The immature ones are in the minority, so I hope you don't let the one bad experience turn you off from a great site.

Oh no, it wasn't as if anyone was exceptionally rude; I just felt like this forum had a weird vibe sometimes and didn't feel comfortable. You remember the posts I'm sure, not hostile but just no longer a ladies forum.

I love Calguns forums for the people who give so much of their knowledge and time. This forum (ladies) got off track and I'm glad to see it back and healthy again with more women posting. And no insult meant to calgunner meant here.

No problem, just thought some guy was being snide to you.

As for the Ladies Forum, I think we have a good group of female Calgunners who visit it from time to time. But because we're so small in number, it makes the responses from men look all the more obvious and maybe overwhelming to new people.

However, there are gals on here who are experienced with rifles. Don't be discouraged -- you will get your feedback
