    Looking to Meet 2A Friends?

Ladies, if you're looking to make 2A friends in a non-shooting environment, you may want to join us at one of our Friends of NRA mixers. Low admission of only $20 includes free appetizers, a no-host bar, and pay-as-you-play raffles to win guns and prizes.

Plus, you get to rub shoulders with other shooting sports enthusiasts -- and, if you're looking for that special shooting partner of the opposite gender, attendance at Friends of NRA mixers usually runs 70%-90% men!

There are only 2 more SoCal mixers scheduled for 2018 -- click on event for details.

I went to a San Diego area FNRA dinner of some kind about 10 years ago. When his wife couldn't attend, a coworker offered me the extra ticket. I had a great time - there were LOTS of big and fancy raffle prizes, including firearms, given away. I didn't win anything. Though, the event was pretty fancy. The dinner was fancy and everyone was dressed up nice.

So, my question is this - do you think that was a special end-of-the-year dinner or are they all kind of like that? I can't tell by reading the FRNA event descriptions if these things are "casual" or not. Also, the one I went to had table seating and a sit-down dinner; so, it seems awkward to go when you don't know anyone. Your description sounds more like a casual happy hour deal. Thoughts?

        BadKitty,
So sorry for the delay in responding, somehow the alert about your message ended up in my junk folder and I just found it. To answer your question, most Friends of NRA events are sit-down dinners and dress is "nice casual" although there are a few that are extra fancy, like the Simi Conejo dinner coming up this Saturday 9/22 at the Reagan Library. However, our Southern California Mixers, Auction Nights, and the upcoming Sunday 10/7 Gun-O-Rama at Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga are much more casual, where you can mix and mingle. Thanks for asking, hope to see you at one of our events!
