there was a female behind the counter at Imbert and Smithers in San Carlos some years ago but no idea if she was an FFL: http://www.imbertandsmithersinc.com/

found this list but you'd have to go through it page by page to find a female and location that works for you: http://firearm-dealers.armsrack.com/d/a/California

first page shows a woman's name in Oakdale but that is no way SF Bay Area.

and if you do go through the list and/or find a female FFL holder via another method, please post her name and contact info here!

Not sure why anyone would need an FFL who was a woman, especially. There have been a few women who actually owned the license themselves, but I can't remember specifically. Maybe they'll post here, and we'll know.

BUT, if the point is for a woman buyer to get respectful and helpful treatment from a gun shop, I'm sure we can come up with some references.

The following FFLs are in the Sacramento area, but it's worth noting that there ARE LGS's that know enough to take a woman seriously, especially when she's got her American Express card in her hand.

For instance, I've had great treatment at River City Gun Exchange, the guys there have sold me a lot of what I have. (go there on a Thursday afternoon, the place is wildly busy on Tuesdays, Friday and Saturday...)

Also, for 'boutique' personal attention one on one, check out Golden State Tactical in Fair Oaks. It's 'boutique', because you have to make an appointment with the owner for personal attention. There are no guns to browse there, particularly, so you should have an idea of what you want in advance.

throwing business to a woman might be a reason, Bonnie.

Roger's Relics, if they're still in business.

Yah, MZ. I hadn't thought of that, but I do patronize women-owned businesses whenever I can.

But it is the socially approved form of sexism, so it is OK, right?

this is the LF.....you remember that forum area of calguns that Mr K himself formed years ago? where women can come and discuss guns AND THE THINGS OF INTEREST TO US w/o having to put up with the over whelmingly male OT attitude?

no, obviously you don't remember that.

like so many in OT who want to support businesses that have the same political mindset as they do or won't go to see certain movies if the actor is against 2A rights,[B] some of us do want to support WOMEN WHO ARE IN THE GUN BUSINESS. we want more women in that business! we want more women buying guns! we want more women owning gun shops or working in them!

if that is sexist to you then that is your problem and not mine.
if that is sexist to you then perhaps posting in the LF is just not for you.

Anyone know a female owned FFL in SoCal? Some demographics are nearly totally not represented in the shooting sports. I knew 3 but both were actually owned by the husband and are all defunct. I think there is one possibly in San Diego.

I have never been there and know little of it. There is another one that her father started it he passed away she still runs it. Small place though off the beaten path. I have seen maybe 2-3 Black owned FFL's in my entire life in the whole country. I have never met a Black female hunter in my life.

I'd love to see more of the non traditional type gun owners brought in to the fold. If they feel more comfortable with their own that is fine. I know gun shops that cater to the Hispanic and Chinese population.
