    Recommendations please for shooting gloves

My wife is interested in learning to shoot either our CZ 75 9mm or the S&W model 13 38 Special. She is having difficulty with the sharpness of the revolver's hammer. Would some kind of glove reduce recoil and improve her enjoyment?

    Thanks:

I have the $50 oakley ones, they work well. They have a little bit too much padding on the fingers making reloading magazines a tiny bit difficult for handguns, but rifle ammo is large enough to still go smoothly.

Oakley Flexion... or something like that.

Having difficulty how, is it hammer bite, or cocking the hammer? Gloves are not going to reduce recoil, they will reduce some of the recoil's shock. I don't recommend using padded gloves for new shooter's, as they also reduce your ability to feel the gun.

If she is getting bit by the hammer make sure her grip is correct to solve that particular problem. If it is a hammer cocking issue a bit of medical tape on her thumb will help that. However learning to always put the gun in SA is not a good thing for new shooter's either.

"Having difficulty how, is it hammer bite, or cocking the hammer?"

Cocking the hammer (and I do not want to sand/file it down, I prefer the hammer as it is).

"If it is a hammer cocking issue a bit of medical tape on her thumb will help that."

We were wondering if tapeing the hammer would work. Until her trigger finger strength improves it maybe SA shooting. She might do better, for starters, with the semi-auto (with me racking the slide). I'm very happy she's trying.

Isn't the reason why the hammer is coarse so the it prevents your thumb from slipping when cocking it? Putting tape on it defeat the purpose.

If you are near the coast hit the sailing supply places. Sailing gloves are damn near made for shooting.

I would just take some sand paper to the hammer on the revolver.

Is she having any problem with the recoil from the CZ?

Some new grips might help with the revolver, but there is a reason giving a revolver to most women is a bad idea. 1800 ergonomics didn't account for a woman's hand. Most men don't like the shoot snubs for any length of time either.
