Concealed Carry Permits for Women In Santa Clara County

Mods please move to appropriate forum if this isn't it.

I am wondering if this would be a way for the females in my family to get their concealed carry permits in Santa Clara county. I want to mention my late Mother had hers but that was in Harris County, TX.

With the threat of Sharia Law looming; if a woman doesn't wear a 'beekeepers' suit in public; she can be raped and then she can be killed because she was raped. This is happening in Germany. Please check the MSA in Berkeley if you think this isn't close to home already.

Point is; can we make a case to pressure Sheriff Smith to grant concealed carry permits to properly trained females in Santa Clara County before something happens here? I think being proactive vs. reactive is called for and ignoring this issue with our open borders won't make it go away.

Looming in the heart of Silly Cone Valley? Seriously? And no, Smith won't issue. She's as anti as they come.

Our chance was in 2014 when we tried to elect a different Sheriff. We failed and are stuck with Smith.

Nah. There are plenty of reasons to carry but the odds of any of us being a victim of a terrorist attack are extrodinarily small. Just saying. You have far greater odds of being attacked by, say, killer bees. No irony there huh?

There is nothing trivial or unimportant about women being able to protect themselves against ANY kind of assault.

There's a huge surge in women purchasing and owning guns in the last two years and IMNSHO, it's all about defending themselves and their children when the old man isn't at home.

And even if women can't carry concealed out in the world, they certainly can while at work, with the owner's permission, at home indoors or in a fully fenced yard. There are rules about carrying on your own property, look them up, they're here on CGN. For most people, home and work use up almost all their time, so by the percentages... But be really vigilant in Walmart and Target parking lots. Good places for pepper spray carry if you can't CCW.

So, if your local Sheriff isn't helpful with CCW, get active in the next election, without looking like a "gun nut", which is counter-productive. Volunteer in the campaign centers, hand out leaflets, do what ever. But be sure to look like ordinary folks, no camo, no patches or radical signage about the candidate's position on CCW. That just turns people off. They don't need to know specifically WHY you support a given candidate, just that you do.

San Mateo County does issue to citizens with a heightened 'good cause'.

So if you're moving anytime soon, that could be an option.

You can always apply. Worst case scenario, you get denied. But sadly the chances in Santa Clara County are very very slim.

When I think about this too much - it blows my mind that my Mom had hers and I can't think of a way to get one for my wife and daughters. You would have to have known my Mom to know what I mean - my Mother is what you would call 'anti-gun' - but her situation required that she have her permit - I'll just leave it at that.

Well, I guess you may be up to 30 posts after this - but tell that to the families in San Bernardino. One person with a concealed weapon in that 'GUN FREE ZONE' could have changed everything.
