    Conceal Carry Ladies?

I came to find some new purses on amazon for women's conceal carry. When my wife get's her CCW she's having me get her one of these.

Any thoughts on the style, issues? I know it's a good deal otherwise.

A couple of thoughts. One do you have children or are is your wife around children, teenagers, or people with Alzheimer's, dementia or other similar conditions. If yes, you might want to consider a purse with a locking gun holster.

The best carry option is on body. Purses are great, but they are a second carry choice.

My suggestion, and it is self serving, is to have you stop by my store since your in Orange County. We have a selection of concealed carry purses, holsters, on body and off body carry solutions. There are a number of factors that should be discussed and understood when carrying concealed. I think it is worth both of your time to come in an try out different solutions. The worst that happens is that you spend some time, gain some info, and chose not to buy from me. There are ladies on this forum who have purchased from us, and can tell you we don't push to close a sale. Your life depends on your carry option. We take your safety seriously. If you do come into the shop, bring the weapon(s) you'll be carrying, so you can make sure they fit, and you like the way the system behaves before buying. We then have a 15 day return policy, so you can make buy with confidence.

Packin' Fur Defense is located in Mission Viejo. Were usually open Thursday and Friday 12-5:30pm and Saturday 9am - 2:30 pm, and by appointment. We are available for consultation by phone 949.528.7385, and give Calguns members 10% off.

A purse is a very personal item, so unless your sure she will like the style, it's iffy. If there is a chance that she may leave the purse unattended, or say in the car with a person who is not a CCW (such as entering a post office), the lack of containment creates legal issues in CA.

I really don't mean to turn the response into an ad, but it really is so much better to try before you buy if you can. Since you live in OC you can. You can visit our website to view some of what we have to offer.

The quality of the purse is ok, just want to make sure you have though out how it will be used, and what you want it to do.

I think it's up to the individual to decide which is first choice carry option and which is second.

That said, and as we always say, the woman who's doing the carrying gets to choose the holster, handbag, bellyband, whatever. And she may want more than one choice for different occasions.

I just can't imagine anyone being able to choose a handbag for me, that I would expect to carry everyday. Anymore than I would expect someone else to pick a bra for me. Doesn't fit? Not comfy? No go.

The right-minded husband or boyfriend who wants to finance this stuff should buy a hefty gift card, tuck it into a box of chocolates, hand it over and watch the ball game while the selection is being made.

Bonnie has it right. I am of the male gender. Because of medical issues and physical limitations, the majority of the on the body carry options do not work for me. I have a backpack that contains everything I need, including meds for medical emergencies. That is how I carry, it a pocket designed for CC. I have not had problems with stores, the few that say anything give in when I show them the medical stuff in the pack and I explain it is for me. They do not want an ADA lawsuit. They never see the gun in the hidden pocket.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

Off topic, but Jeremiah, don't you thing it's weird that some stores will question you about a backpack, and let me sail in with a handbag the size of Texas? Weird.

Gang, apologies the the digression, but I hadda?

Yes I do. My wife and I are teachers and work at the same school. We carry our laptops between school and home everyday. If we do shopping after school, the computers go with us, mine in my backpack, hers in her large bag she uses for school stuff. At the Target near our school I was questioned about my backpack so I said what about her bag? My pack was in the cart and she was carrying her bag. He let us pass.

This store though has the no backpacks policy because it is so close to a high school and a middle school and a significant number of those kids think shoplifting is a game that hurts nobody. Some of our students have participated in swarming incidents also.

Now, two over 50 people whose packs are already filled with school stuff are not likely candidates to be shoplifters. On the other hand, we can point out the students that are in the store that need close supervision.

Then again, the entrance to Disneyland and movie theaters will stick their filthy hands inside a woman's purse and search it with a flash light. But some OG wearing an xxxxl hoodie can walk through no questions asked.

They try whatever they think they can get away with I guess.

                Sorry for further derail.
