Im new here, and have recently made the decision to apply for my CCW. I live in Tulare county, and am just looking for any advice anyone of you ladies have on the process, whats best for EDC, and anything else.

I have been shooting for close to 7 years now. My baby right now is a RI 1911 .45 but am looking for a .9mm as my EDC.

Welcome. I'm fairly new myself. I'm in San Bernardino County which currently is not too difficult to get through the process. I don't know how it compares with Tulare's process.

I have 3 carry weapons on my permit, all are 9mm because that was the ammo already available to me. I figured it would make life easier to not have to buy an additional calibre to stock. Mainly I carry my Sig P290RS Rainbow. It's pretty. The grip has a sandpaper-like finish which is a problem on my back so I now wear a tank top every day as a barrier. I also have a S&W M&P Shield 9mm which I absolutely love. I haven't carried it yet concealed just because I have the rainbow at the moment. I'm sure I'll swap them around periodically. My third is a Ruger LC9. I like it, but the grip is a bit short for my hand. The magazine trends to pinch my pinky when fired. It lives in the safe most of the time, but it's loaded and next to my bed.

I'm currently using an alien gear IWB holster that I like, but it rides a bit far back for easy reach. I think I should swap it for a left handed model to make it easier to reach. I'm still looking for how to carry if wearing a dress or skirt. Someone posted here a link for a shaper garment with built in holsters. That looks great and I'd like to try it. It's just not yet in my budget.
