Hi. There's also a monthly shoot at the Insight Shooting Range in Artesia.(off the 91 at the Pioneer exit)
There is no registration or requirements to attend just come and have fun!
insight even gives calgunners a discount on the day of the event too!
Also you might want to look into the WOT (women on Target) Clinics
Me and the other members have plenty of pistols, shotguns and rifles to let you try out before you go out to a gun shop and buy if you do decide to visit us at insight
...
Good luck and stay safe!Last edited by afteractionreport; 05-31-2015, 1:14 PM.Kyle "Kenosha Kid" Rittenhouse did nothing wrongComment

???? Is this some OC thing? Never heard of that. I've been frequenting several indoor ranges in San Diego for years, always bring my own guns, but carry a TX drivers license. Never had an issue.
If there is any, what is the reasoning for this "CA resident only" restriction?Tire kickers gonna kick,
Nose pickers gonna pick
I and others know the realComment

Let me start by saying that I live in NorCal and don't know beans about what ranges do in OC.
BUT, I think there is confusion here between buying a gun, for which you need proof of California address, such as a utility bill, plus picture id. But proof of address is not the same as California legal residency, (as in students who get special rates if they are official California permanent resident.) I use my passport, when I buy guns, which isn't proof of California residence, but proves my identity and my electric bill or cable bill.
I never heard of a range even asking for id in order to shoot a gun you bring with you, never mind barring out-of-staters. Some indoor ranges that rent shooting lanes by the hour will hold your drivers license to make sure you don't leave without paying, but that's not the same thing.
Most ranges that RENT guns want to see picture id in order to rent a gun and they expect to hold it till you bring the gun back, but I never heard of them refusing an out of state ID. And no range I know will rent a gun to a person who comes alone with no gun and without a companion.
Maybe doing some further research will clear up any confusion.
No offense to the OP, but my troll detectors are pinging a little bit....Last edited by BonnieB; 06-01-2015, 5:07 AM.WHAT I HAVE LEARNED SO FAR, MOSTLY THE HARD WAY

Everyone is welcome at our shoots. We do two in OC. Check the links I posted above for info. North is at FT3 Tactical in Stanton and South is at OnTarget in Laguna Niguel. You do not need any guns to participate. People are usually very willing to share, especially if you chip in or provide your own ammo.
We do the Calgunner in Training program at the north OC shoot which is fun. A certified instructor works with you and teaches you the basics. Registration for June 23 shoot should open next week.Kevin
