I recently took my girlfriend to a handgun class at front sight and she really had a good time. she's very excited and has been wanting to do dry practice, go to the range , etc. The only issue we are having, other than my vp9 became her vp9 , is she is having difficulty with her concealment garment, I want to get her something that will clear easily so she doesn't continue to get frustrated, Any thoughts?

No the vp9 hasn't been transferred to her name , hahaha, I haven't brought that up and don't plan on it either ... It is a very good platform for her with the front side serrations, flanges in the rear of the slide to help her grasp the slide, and interchangeable blackstraps to fit her hand. She is very happy with it.Comment

not a good idea, Moe, is an understatement.........."The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."-- as seen on a t-shirt

No... I should have made that clear, she wants to learn to draw from concealment bc she wants to go back to front sight and dg the skills test, she took it without concealment and missed one shot, I was really impressed so I'm am trying to get her some kind of garment that will work like one of those shooting vests, she just doesn't want to wear one of those, I guess it doesn't match the rest of her wardrobe....Comment

Why exactly is it a bad idea? My Wife CCW's 2 weapons registered to me and one registered to her. No problem what so ever.
If fact two of my weapons are on both our permits.
All you got to do is get Married. LOL
As to the OP's question. Front Sight's training is rather specific so I would suggest she call their pro shop and see if they have a lady pro their she could discuss it with.
Ladies being build different then we are carry differently. Her best advice will come from other women who carry.Only slaves don't need guns

No problem until she shoots someone while carrying your weapon or otherwise gets discovered. If just training, probably OK.Originally posted by Kestryll:

She's carrying on private property during a training class. No worries. My son (15) carry's one of their rentals for the class.Only slaves don't need guns

At least in Sacramento County, legally married couples, of any gender, may carry any handgun registered to one of them, as long as it's listed on their CCW licenses. That is, I could carry my (non-existent) husband's handgun if I list it on my CCW. Both can even have the same gun listed on their licenses.
Unmarried SO's do not have that privilege in my County, nor do room-mates, live-in's or besties. So you better look up your rules first. Just because it's private property does not exempt you from every little thing. For instance, if you're on private property and accidentally wander into a National Forest.... Remember, you can't 'lend' someone a gun for more than 30 days. You MUST take it back into your possession every 30th day. Maybe the best thing is for her to buy her own dang gun, as we've said 150 times...
But I digress. Yes, women struggle with carry options, because of our curvy curves and our un-willingness to wear vests in 105 degrees, or to wear out shirt tails out. I have a N82 Tactical IWB https://www.n82tactical.com/holster-options that works very nicely with jeans and a tucked in T shirt. Comfy too, in hot weather. GrantAR2 of Packinfurdefense http://packinfurdefense.com/ is making some very nice stuff too.
There must be 500 posts on the here Women's Forum on CCW attire and holsters for women's particular needs. Use the search feature on "CCW" and you'll get more info than you have time to read. And OP, have your GF come in and meet us. We'd love to encourage a new shooter. We'll make her welcome, I promise.Last edited by BonnieB; 05-01-2015, 1:11 AM.WHAT I HAVE LEARNED SO FAR, MOSTLY THE HARD WAY
