Yes, it was an LEO purchase. Otherwise, the only way to get one is through PPT.

OK, where can we meet to do the PPT?

Revolvers, specifically the LCR, have a long and heavy, although smooth, trigger pull. Revolvers are not a beginner's pistol. Shooters need to have the 5 principles of shooting down before trying revolvers. Stick to striker fired or single action pistols or DA/SA with manual safeties for now.

There are plenty of G42 for sale on CGN. You're looking to spend anywhere from 750-900 for one at what people are charging. For that price, I'm going to recommend a big hearty "NO" to an overpriced pistol.

Try the compact model Gen3 Glocks. If the tang area of the grip fits, but the base area is too fat, try the sub-compact model. If the subbie fits, but is too short add the pearce grip extensions. They extend the pinky to a compact size, but do not add the fatness at the rear of the grip like the compact. 10 rounds either way. This method has made many gals happy whenever I help them decide on a Glock.

For 1911s, I would stay clear of the Ultras as too small is a no no. I would recommend an Officer frame with a Commander slide or a complete Commander size. HK's are a good option. I like Sigs, but I'm going to say no to the classic P series based on this. Maybe the P238, but it's really tiny. Definitely a no on the 290 series.

I'm not a gal, but I don't have a biased opinion either way. Get what works for her or will most likely work for her based on her experience with manipulation and comfort.

Hahaha....sorry, the employee of the gun store where I bought it already asked to be #1 on the list for PPT should I ever choose to be rid of it. LOL Besides, I've never sold any of my children.....

              Anbu, thanks for the suggestions.
Badkitty, it was worth a try.

I have a G42, bought it SSE last fall. I had one h*ll of a time with it at first. It's TINY, even in my small soft hands, and it TWISTS when you fire it. It's not just me, two strong handsome men tried it and confirmed.

SO, I got a Hogue Jr. grip cover for it, with a little palm swell and some mag extenders. Works like a champ now, and all the bullets go through the same hole.

Some people bought G42's last fall, as SSE because they've never been on-roster and probably won't be. There's a lot of price gouging going on, but they did buy them speculatively. To be fair, some people just really didn't like them, they're so small. But if you look in the CGN handguns for sale by owner, you may be able to pick one up PPT. But you won't get it for MSRP.

Woah, woah, woah! What's this? Did those strong, handsome men come with purchase? Because I don't recall getting any men with my G42 when I went to pick it up.

The gratuitous photo of me posing with two hot Navy SWCC guys has been removed as it has now served it's purpose.
