Hey all, this seemed like as good a place as any to post this so I figured I'd give it a shot.
I'm seriously considering a career as a deputy sheriff in California (preferably Del Norte or Butte County) and was wondering if anyone had any insight on the matter. I'm 21 years old and have Certificates of achievement in business management and real estate from Butte College (I understand it doesn't really apply to the job but maybe it counts for something?) I know I will have to go through P.O.S.T. training but I was wondering what the job prospects usually are as far as how often they hire and what else I can do to "beef up" my resume and differentiate myself from other applicants. Any input/advice you may have would be much appreciated! Thanks!
