You can store a handgun(s) at a safe deposit box at a bank. If you are just looking for storage I guess get a safe. A decent one will run you 5-800$

Check out your local police/sherrif department. Our department will store firearms for a fee.

there are a couple of shooting clubs in vegas right over the border that you can bascily buy a spot for your safe or locker. otherwise, if your talking about a long term move / trip out of state or country, buy a really good safe, and then rent a long term storage locker at reputable storage company.

You must be joking! That is the LAST place I would store my firearms. Some politician pushes through some dumb LAW that reads "all guns not in the immediate possession of of their lawful owners must be destroyed without delay" and the cops interpret that to mean, "Well, toss these into the smelter!"

PLEASE don't waste your energy trying to tell me that something like that is NOT possible! I've lived too long to believe our gu'mint is not capable of EXACTLY that!

All good ideas. It's boiled down to renting a locker for $10/mo at a public storage locker. I really hate the idea and might just keep it at home in a hidden spot. I'm sorta **** out of luck.

The idea really was that I should keep it stored at a shooting range but the only one that offers that is an hour drive away.

I herd that **** gets stolen from public storage all the time so I really don't want that to be my final option. I'll have to keep looking around.

btw I pick up my new handgun this coming tuesday so I guess I don't have the luxury of time.

Honestly your best best is a safe of your own or keep it an hour away or a little bit closer. I am sure someone locally could assist in storing your handgun, if it comes to it I will be more than happy to help out. I live down the street in a sense from Chabot Shooting Range

Haha right on. Thanks but no thanks. Chabot Shooting Range looks really nice. I might wanna check it out sometime. My friend has a vintage Hungarian rifle from WWII he wants to shoot. Maybe a few Calgunners would want to gather.

buy the safe and put it in the storage room, bolt it to the floor.. only problem you would have is the employee's seeing you moving stuff around on the CCTV

Storage facilities are a bad idea. One poor local dude had a collection of 20-30 firearms stored at a U-Haul place. BAM!! All stolen. The local cops (who are friends of mine) felt it was some type of inside job. No arrests were ever made or guns recovered. Get a safe.
