Wow man, just tighten the two hex screw to 55in-lbs and use a screwdriver and a hammer to stake while its sitting in a vise (supported with wood blocks). Very very very easy

That or just drip a little loctite in there. The keys arent load bearing or anything, the only reson behins staking is to prevent loosening from shock/vibration. Loctite will do the same thing.
      Embrace the suck.

"If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge" -Ronald Reagan speaking of the newhall incident in 1970.

Loctite will not work. The heat will kill the locktite. You must stake it. I guess you could try Rocksett, which is like locktite but can withstand very high temps. If your that worried about it, send it to Randall at AR15Barrels.com He posts on calguns as ar15barrels. Does excellent work

I know it seems pretty easy but if somebody has a MOACKS tool it looks like the safest way to do it. I dont have access to a vise either so I'd rather not risk it by banging it and scraping the BCG if I had to hold it down with my bare hands.

Somebody mentioned on another forum to use an auto-punch to stake the BCG. Anybody else use one and how did it come out? I was looking at this one http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...Itemnumber=621

I think you want the normal punch&hammer to exert enough force to stake

Warning sometime information like this causes problems. Take it too a gun smith. Who works on AR stuff.

You could always call Hugo at Duncans Guns in San Marcos. I bet he would do it for you while you wait. Normally he is swamped with work, but that is a quick fix.
