Franklin Armory is known for innovating new technologies and deploying them successfully in the marketplace. Due to our significant corporate investment in R&D, we are looking to expand our engineering roster once again. At this time, we are looking for two full-time Mechanical Design Engineers. If possible, we will be looking to hire an individual to manage the engineering department as well. We simply need more hands-on deck to process the extensive number of projects that we have in the pipeline!
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be tasked with designing and testing new components or systems applicable to the firearms industry. This full-time, permanent position is at our Douglas County, NV facility.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate of Science Degree within the engineering field preferred
Must be mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach
Please bring a self-starter inclination with a solid work ethic
Prior experience with Siemens NX preferred (or an aptitude to adapt quickly!)
Must know ANSI/ASME drafting standards
Must have a working knowledge of common hand tools and measurement tools
Must be legally able to work directly with firearms. (E.g., no precluding convictions)
Must be DRUG-FREE!
PREFERRED SUPPLEMENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with finite element analysis, particularly with NX, Ansys, or Adams
Experience with manual and/or CNC machining
Vendor communications/relations
Customer communications/relations (E.g., work with sales, marketing, and other executive staff)
Electrical background interest & aptitude
3D printing experience Material science experience & knowledge
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds
Job includes moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, and with machinery
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Maintain the highest level of safety and cleanliness in and around the production and assembly areas
Perform visual and mechanical checks to ensure quality and accuracy
Communicate and collaborate with the engineering team and production staff regarding potential issues that could affect product quality and safety including equipment and product issues
Accurately and methodically maintain testing and evaluation records
Must be present in regular attendance and have a flexible work schedule
Ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, and company policy
Test fire experimental firearms and components in the shop and at outdoor locations even in poor weather conditions
Regularly assemble firearms and componentry for testing and evaluation
