    Inter Family Transfer

I appreciate any response in this matter. My son is an active Marine stationed in camp pendleton. I want to give him a handgun I purchased when he was 16. He know owns a home in Hemet and recently discovered someone broke into his garage. I wanted to know, since he just turned 21 and is active military. It states that he isn't required to have a HSC. But in filling out the Intra-Familiar transfer, it is asking for his HSC or FSC. Since he is military and a CA resident. It's easier to use his CDL instead so he doesn't need have to find his copy of permanent duty station. Not sure how the best way to fill this out. Again, any help with this is greatly appreciated.

He can, but I was wondering since he just moved, from base housing into his new home, if he would have his permanent duty station paperwork that they require with Mil ID. Also, if he is a Jr. where does he put that suffix? Thanks again.

The exemption code for active military is X21. He can use his CA ID/DL since he has that, so the duty orders don't matter. It does not seem to require a copy of any ID.

The suffix normally goes with the last name, but it is hard to say.

Kemasa, so if he use's his CDL, will they reject the transfer since he would not enter a HSC or FSC number? Appreciate the help so far.

Put in the box for the HSC/FSC number "X21". I can not say what they will do, but he does not need a HSC/FSC since he is currently exempt. They don't seem to have a place to put that. It is also illegal to copy Federal IDs, so they really can't require a copy (sometimes they try though).
