So valid hunting license = FSC exempt?

Just want to make sure I'm reading it correctly that my valid CA hunting license means I am exempt from having to pay for and take test for the FSC?

Or does it mean I am just exempt from the safe handling demo?

Also, is it basically up to the FFL if they want me to take/pay for the test anyway even if I provide my hunting license?

context: I started DROS on a Mauser at Big 5 in December and going to pick it up this week some time.

The hunting license exempts you from the FSC for long guns.

It is not up to the FFL. It's written into the law.

and since you are exempt from the FSC with the hunting license, you are supposed to be exempt from having to do the safety demo as well.
