PPT purchase off roster interstate shipment to self

Tried a search, didn't find anything for this situation.

I live in the Bay Area, consider buying an off roster pistol in San Diego, obviously, this is quite a hike. Can I head down to the seller's FFL, begin paperwork, DROS and the like, and then have the FFL ship it to my local FFL after 10 days...basically, shipping it to myself?

I'm trying to cut what looks like two long trips down to just one. Or, am I stuck?

No, the firearm can not be shipped after the DROS is submitted. You would be better off to pay the seller to come to your area.
