    Caliber question

Can someone tell me the appropriate caliber to input for "7mm-08"?
I swear, DOJ lists some calibers I've not seen in my lifetime yet they don't list the common ones... Go figure.

I have come to find that doj is looking for the class of bore size. Anything with a 284/7mm caliber will work.

For all of you who were so fascinated and puzzled by the question, here's what DOJ said (which is probably where I should have posed my question in the first place):

John said: In the "drop down" box for caliber what caliber designation is used fro 7mm-08? (initial issue report)

DOJ Response (11/11/2014 10:20 AM ): John, please use the "7mm, Rem Weatherby Mag, 7mm Bench Rest, 7x57 Mauser" option in the drop down menu for caliber. Please comment actual caliber. For further assistance call 855-365-3767.

**The important part to note is: Please comment actual caliber.

Thanks franklinarmory for your input. You were correct...

I only know this since a dealer friend of mine couldn't transfer a 300 blk pistol. I had to get the statement in writing from doj to ensure my client was covered on the transaction.

Seems correct to me Tyke, I would have chosen the most accurate caliber in the drop down tab and made a note in the comments section.

I guess the most important aspect of this is that DOJ wants the actual caliber noted probably within the "comment" box.
