restricted long gun states for shipping?

I want to ship a Russian SKS to another state via an FFL. Are there any states (other than CA.) or areas that I should beware of? Such as N.J or Chicago? or N.Y?

Also I want to ship an USGI M1 Carbine too. same question as above. Any states I should beware of?

    Thanks in advance.

You do not need to ship a long gun via a FFL. In fact, it is legal to mail a long gun via USPS as long as it is legal to receive it at the final destination. If you are shipping it to someone besides yourself, you'll need to ship it to a FFL in that person's state of residency. As far as state laws, you'll need to check the laws for the states you want to ship to. Some states do have bans on certain long guns.

Talk to the receiving FFL. Inform him fully of what you intend to send. He will say YEA or NAY.
