    Shipping handguns.

If someone had the audacity to ship a pistol via USPS, would you accept it?

How would you know it was a "handgun" until you accepted it and opened the package?
But to answer your question, yes.
Shipping errors are on the shipper, not necessarily the receiver.
And, handguns can be sent FFL to FFL...

That should have read...FFL to FFL via USPS.

As an FFL if I get a package, open it, find out it was a handgun, and it didn't come from an FFL why wouldn't I accept it? I cant send it back to the guy since he is a private individual. What other choice do I have but to log it into my book and log it in. Its not like the FFL did anything wrong by opening a package. It would be like if you received a package at your home that had any of the number of listed items that are prohibited to mail. You didn't commit any crimes by receiving it.

.....of course I could always call PD and say hey this mofo shipped me a handgun via USPS and they aren't allowed to do so and I could potentially open a can of worms for the shipper.

Yes, why not? I get them all the time. I also get handguns via UPS ground. It's not on me if something goes wrong.

I doubt that anyone, including the USPS Inspector, would do anything about such a violation when the firearm was delivered. If they discover it before it is delivered, then they might do something.

The violation of the law is on the shipper, not on the FFL at all.
