2 Forms of ID - Trusts?

I searched and couldn't find a thread pertaining to this, as its an odd question.

As the law states, you need 2 forms of ID to prove residency to take possession of a pistol, Vehicle registration, Utility Bills, Drivers License, etc.

Recently I transferred both of my vehicles into a living trust, and now the registrations read :

"The SunsetIE living trust dtd 00/00/2014
    1911 Colt ave
    Nowhere, CA "

As opposed to originally reading :

    "SunsetIE
    1911 Colt ave
    Nowhere, CA"

Are these acceptable as a 2nd form of ID?

With a living trust you retain control of all assets to how you see fit (buy/sell/gift), but the assets are registered to the trust.

Technically, it should be "sunsetIE as the trustee if the SunsetIE living trust..." In which case, I suspect it would still meet the 2nd ID qualifications.

And several years back, my lawyers suggested never putting a car in the name of your trust. It is most people's biggest source of liability and if it is not in your trust, your trust assets are not grabbable.

Interesting, my lawyer advised me entirely differently and that's why I put them in the trust!

This is NOT correct. You only need one document to prove CA residency. The issue is that CA PC says that a CA DL/ID is NOT acceptable for proof for a handgun. A recent utility bill is acceptable, which is not an ID.

If your CA DL/ID does not have your current address on it, Federal law requires a government document with your residence address. If the utility is owned by the government, then it works for the Feds.

You can get a Ham radio license which is both a government document, as well as proof of residency. There are other permits which should work as well.

I paraphrased the requirement, but you get my point.

Its all the same, just the addition of the "living trust" part. Thanks for the reply.
