This is not a knock, but there are folks in the AF and Navy who never handle a firearm after boot camp. In fact the Navy doesn't do firearms training even in boot.

      So yeah.

        teg33,

I hope that you can back this falsehood up. You're dead wrong on this one.

Lee Baca certainly had his shortcomings as Sheriff (which is why he didn't finish out his term), but let's not take cheap shots at the man.

If you think that he was ever convicted on a DV charge, please show us some evidence. As much as he was under the gun in his final months in office, if there was any truth to the allegation, it would have been all over the press. Look at the press treatment of the San Francisco Sheriff under similar circumstances.

Spreading lies about someone that you don't like is the mark of a very small man. Please show us something to back up your statement.

We've dealt with this one in a previous thread (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=292535). No one came up with any proof back then either.

I apologize with my statement, you're right, there wasn't any proof that Baca was convicted of DV. I heard from a buddy who was retired from San Marino PD regarding the incident at Baca residence.

For Army it all comes down to if you are deployable or not. Because of Lautenburger you are automatically non deployable for DV. Past Felons can still handle weapons in the military as long as its not DV (Stupid I know). It has nothing to do with how much you actually handle a weapon in your job in the military only that you can if deployed. If you are non deployable the Commander can hang on to you and try to utilize you in another position but eventually you will be forced out.
