    New FSC order form problems

The new firearms safety certificate order system will go live Jan. 1 to order materials and cards. So does that mean I can not sell any rifles or frames until they process my order and get me my materials. That could take a while since everyone is going to be ordering all at once.

I believe all materials will be available online including cards for us to print as needed. I will look again at the notice. I don't remember anything about test question booklets.

dang doj just sent back my check for HSC cards. I tried to order study guides at the same time. They now no longer print even the English ones. Instead of sending the cards and refunding the extra they can led the whole order.
So now I am out of cards.

lesson....don't try to order any printed materials with your HSC anymore.

I just had the same thing happen. I was out of cards for a couple days and it definitely cost me sales. That's great I hope they are willing to pay for my paper and ink for all the extra printing. Hopefully the cost should be less because they are no longer paying for the printing.

So, how are we to comply with the requirement for HSC if we run out of cards prior to 01/01 and DOJ won't allow us to order more?

Cutting us off nearly three months early seems a bit extreme don't you think?

Who said you can't order more? The email very clearly states that NONE of the new stuff happens until January.
Anyone try to place an order?

Direct answer from the DOJ today:

“We are still issuing HSC cards to the CIs currently. There is no plan to stop issuing them prior to January 1, 2015.

If a CI issues an HSC card prior to January 1, 2015, that card can still be used by the purchaser beginning January 1, 2015 for handgun only purchases. If someone wants to buy a long gun beginning January 1, 2015, they will need to then get an FSC. Once someone has an FSC, they can use it for handgun or long gun purchases.”

In other words, the customers get screwed because in order to buy a handgun today, they need a HSC card and come 2015 they will need the FSC for long guns. This means if they want to buy a long gun in 2015, the HSC money is wasted.

In a semi-reasonable world (in a reasonable world none of this would exist), they would issue the FSC now, just not require it until 2015 and/or allow the HSC to also purchase long guns.

Then there is the fun about getting a refund on HSC cards that FFLs have come 2015.

I didn't think they had stopped issuing. I was just warning people not to order the study guides at the same time. This is what was sent to me.
