Bayonet used as an OAL device???

Just received a VZ58, fully functional sidefolder with pistol grip removed ( in the box) for transfer. No bullet button on the firearm and a detachable bayonet placed on the barrel. Dealer states that the Bayonet is to be used as the extension to make the sidefolding gun +30 inches in OAL. Oh and 5, non permanent, 30 round mags blocked to 10 rounders in the box as well.

SBR or cheesy attempt to use the bayonet as a new muzzle device barrel extension??

Also, no advanced warning that I was receiving the aforementioned wobbling Czech. Hate when I get these and with each one, my love for getting cool guns to transfer waxes cold.

    FFL friends, what say you?

Since there is no permanence requirement for to meet CA overall length requirements, some people feel they can meet it by attaching a bayonet to the firearm.
However, if done, the bayonet can never be removed from the firearm while in CA.
Because it can be easily removed, most people do not like going this route.

        Regardless...
Because the VZ58 that was sent to you has a non-fixed folding stock and no fixed magazine (maglock + 10 or less round magazine), it is considered an assault weapon under CA laws. [PC 30515(a)(1)(C)]

        Therefore...
If you do not have an assault weapons permit, refuse this shipment/return it to the sender.

        Penal Code 30515
        (a) Notwithstanding Section 30510, "assault weapon" also means any of the following:
        (1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
        (A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
        (B) A thumbhole stock.
        (C) A folding or telescoping stock.
        (D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
        (E) A flash suppressor.
        (F) A forward pistol grip.
        (2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
        (3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.
