Question for CA FFL's regarding Sig MK25 Navy

I have a quick question for you CA FFL's, is the NON CA Sig MK25 Navy still on roster? I went to my local gun shop in the Bay Area to ask if they would work as my FFL on a NON CA Sig MK25 Navy and they told me no it was off roster but we both looked it up and it say it is on until 2015 but because Sig sells the CA version they told me they couldn't legally handle the Non CA version without SSE...

Are they telling the truth or can I still buy a NON CA Sig MK25 Navy without SSE?

In our opinion there is no need to SSE the black version of the MK25.

According to the roster MK25 black is listed. They do not specify the CA version only which has a different sku.

Sig is playing word games with Model #'s

If you go to Sig's Web site and look up the pistol you will SEE that Sig makes a "MK25" Not CA ok and a "MK-25" CA ok

The "MK25" is the real Navy pistol.

The "MK-25" is not the real deal just a look a like as the MK-25 is not a DOD Model and never will be.

The roster only list the MK-25

So if you want the real Navy pistol you will need to SSE it

I'm not a gun model forensics specialist, I'm just a nobody going off what is on the box.

What is on the side of the MK-25:


The DOJ should say MK-25-CA as that's a totally different sku and model name. The way it is on the roster the CA version is not on the roster

Might be a dumb question but is there any difference between a MK25 and MK-25 non-CA?

I just bought an MK-25 (stated on my DROS paperwork) non-CA in Livermore without the mag disconnect and loaded chamber indicator without having to SSE. They had a CA compliant MK-25 side by side too and those 2 things were the only differences I saw and knew of. Thanks

One is on the roster and the other is not. The problem is that the names are close to the same, so if the FFL does not know which one it really is, they might DROS it as the wrong one (which is on the roster).

For example, the Sig P229 ESE had the wrong model number (E29R-40-ESE) which listed it with so-called high capacity magazines. The current model listed is 229R-40-ESE (or 9), which is NOT the CA version, but it was intended to be the CA version. So which is actually on the list, the non-CA version with the model listed or the CA version (229R-40-ESE-CA) which is not actually listed?

So do you go by what is listed or what was meant to be listed?

Mount Pleasant Arms in San Jose may still have a few non-CA MK25s.. and last I emailed him it was $940 OTD.
