I am a new FFL and I am wondering what you all use to manage your accounting and inventory. As of now, I am using QuickBooks and it works great for my accounting needs for now. What I have not really figured out is a good way to manage inventory. I'm looking at QuickBooks Point of Sale but I'm not sure if that's a good way to go. How do you guys manage your inventory? What kind of number scheme do you use to keep track of your firearms, with all the different model numbers and serial numbers for the firearms. Do you generate a part number that includes the model number and/or serial number? I've seen some gun shops do this and it appears like it works. I am also selling parts and accessories too and I need something to help me be more organized with categories, subcategories, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

We use got Merchant Magic at the beginning of the year and like it a lot. -
Thanks for the reply. I've looked into that and it looks very nice. As my business progresses I'm probably going to migrate to that. Any other suggestions would be great though. Thanks."For God and Country."

So are there any small FFL's using regular Quickbooks Pro to track inventory?? I started to do it but it's time consuming entering all the parts numbers, and I never got around to invoicing through QB. The POS softwares mentioned above are a little pricy for my needs.Comment
