I searched a few different strings, and didnt really find much. What i did find was that i can just mail it and fill out a no longer in posession form. Im not sure if this is correct or not. So i figured i would ask here.

So I have a friend in the state of Oklahoma that wants an AR. I happen to have 3 lowers sitting in my safe.

I was considering giving him one, how can this be done? Since i'd be "selling" from within CA to someone in OK. It would obviously have to be shipped.

You would need to ship it to a FFL in his state.

You would have to ship it to an FFL. USPS only allows firearms to be shipped by an FFL to an FFL, UPS and FedEx regs allow individuals to ship to an FFL but they require it goes overnight and that's pricey. Maybe you can find a nice FFL to ship it out for you. Might be cheaper.

USPS only allows HANDGUNS to be shipped FFL to FFL, with some few exceptions. Anyone can ship a long gun.

I don't know anything about the AR prices in Oklahoma ..and I could be wrong but my guess is you could sell your lower here in California where Its price is artificially inflated and send him the money and he could go down to his local gun store and get a complete, if not maybe a budget ,AR.
