That is the former I think she is talking about. There is nothing saying you can't do it, just that it will be reported.

In theory you could DROS them all at the same time, fill out seperate 4473's, and then pick them all up 5 days apart as to not have to deal with reporting. Most FFLs won't want to do that as the ATF auditors may frown upon that.

I don't know why she'd insist that she can't do it. Of course she can. She'd just have to file another form for the multiple semi-auto rifles with detachable magazines. What's the big deal?

ETA: She'd have to do it for two, so why not do it for five and get it over with?

          What halifax ^ said...

I had 3 long guns come in from out of state. My LGS asked if they were all semi-auto centerfire rifles that accepted detachable mags. I said, "Yes". He told me he would have to fill out the BATFE form. DROS proceeded normally. That's it.

Good thing, too. Saved me $50 over doing them separately.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

This is all so easy to do:

The 4473 has lines for up to five guns.
On the DROS she just has to keep hitting the button labeled "Submit Another Transaction"
That multiple long gun form is easy to fill out to. Just fill out your info and each individual gun info, almost exactly like doing a DROS or a 4473.

sounds like they dont want to do the extra atf paperwork since we are a state on a foreign border it almost sounds shady when you think about it like they are in on some trafficing and dont want you to activate the batfe sniffers

I have heard of customers not wanting to do it. I have never heard of a dealer not wanting to.

I don't like the idea behind it, and don't agree with the policy, but I'm not going to deny a customer his right to purchase because I don't agree with the form.
