    Newbie, getting ready questions

Ok, so ive been reading and lurking in this section and have a few clarification questions. About me: im going for a home based FFL and i live in a rural unincorporated area of the county. You guys say to get a local business license first and upon checking my county website, it say "we do not require a business license in unincorporated areas". Also theres a link to a printable memo stating that. Is that good enough?
Now im looking at COE, cert of compliance, FFL, and board of equalization thing.

Ive done live-scans before but where and how does one get the fingerprint card? Do live scanners print you one?
The 2x2 can be homemade cell phone/camera job?
What do you all think, am i missing anything?

    Thanks

Probably, check zoning to ensure you don't have any restrictions for your location either.

Fingerprinr Card if I recall comes with ATF application
Live scanners do NOT print one (you basically submit fingerprints twice to 2 different agencies, they don't share)
    Yes home picture is fine
Probably, but I need to get back to the day job. Double check/read the main stickies in this forum.

Well i mailed it all. FFL app, COE, and got a sellers permit. FYI, dont be in a big hurry to get the sellers permit, you register online in ten minutes and print out the permit when youre done.

You need to check with zoning in your county, my county (Shasta) does not require a business license but the planning dept. does require an administrative permit to run a home based business in my zoning area. ATF called the county to see if I had zoning compliance and what the restrictions were, such as traffic limitations. (The administrative permit process took the longest of any step ~ 3 months)

Thank you for the advise guys.

Well they gave me a memo stating the same as the one on the website but this one mentioned basically 'we dont regulate firearms dealers or sales either'. However they do require a generic permit to operate a home based business, which i applied for. So for any new guys reading this, follow the advise of the above posters, even if they dont require a business license proper, check anyway.
