    Rifle Sale Question

So, an Air Force friend of mine ordered a Sig M400 from out of state and had it delivered to me so I could do the DROS for him. Ten days later he picked up his rifle and we're all good.

A few days later he told me he likes his other AR 15 better, and asked me to resell the brand new unfired Sig for him. If I had a local Private Party buyer, that would be simple.

What is the easiest way for me to handle the resale of this rifle, perhaps out of California, or at least out of our area?

    Thanks!

For you to take it in to sell it, you would need to be a secondhand dealer and report it, plus there would be a wait of 30 days before you could deliver it to someone.

You could take it back as a return, which then the sales tax would be refunded. You would need to cancel the DROS. This would help with the selling price.

You could have him advertise it and then when it sells, either you or he ships it.
